Alexis Sanchez

Madrid just won their league and the champions league. Maybe the competition for places helped then do that. If a few players are unhappy along the way I'm sure they will take that.
Competition for places didn't win them the CL. They have players capable of performing at a world class level regardless of who is breathing down their neck.

I'm not arsed if players become unhappy. I just don't see the point paying over the odds for a young player based on his potential when you are going to block his path with ready made world class players.

It certainly helped. Having top players for each position ups every players level. Look at the contributions squad players such as Asensio made. You need top options to win trophies.

You do, but Asensio is a product of their youth team and therefore probably is patient enough to bide his team. Had he been a 50m signing from elsewhere, it's likely he would be in a totally different place. Look at what's happened to Renato Sanches at Bayern. Despite being 19 he had the mindset of wanting to play week in week out because they paid stupid money for him. He hasn't played much and has looked poor when he has.

I'm staggered people don't understand this.

I'll simplify it further. Look at the difference in the player that Alexis Sanchez is now to what he was when he was rotated at Barcelona. Night and day. I don't know about you but I feel Sane and Jesus can be very special players. But for that to happen they need to be number 1 options for me.

Asensio was never part of their youth team. He was purchased from Mallorca.

First of all, Asensio is a product of Mallorca's academy. Secondly, for players like Sane and Jesus to become top class, they need the likes of Sanchez who will improve them. They'll learn. We don't need squad players like Nolito and Navas. We need top class players who can make a contribution.

So you honestly don't think Bale knew if he didn't perform someone would take his place and conversely when Isco and Morata for example did get in they thought they had a point to prove.

I disagree. When Aguero was injured in the past and Kelechi came in Sergio would know he is going straight back in. And Kelechi probably knew that no matter what he did that was the case.

Do you not think Aguero's work rate went up when Jesus came in?

Have any of the ITK's had any info on Sanchez? Didn't think we could get him. It will spell the end of a lot of game time for Sterling, as he was even struggling at the end of the season when everyone was fit. I think it is a good move however even so, if we want to step to the next level we need to be adding players like Sanchez. Sterling has been decent for us, but his shooting is atrocious and he can drift in and out of games. He should be a bit further on at this stage imo, although he was definitely showing signs of improvement.

But they're not really ITK's, they are just very naughty boys
