Wenger’s pre-match interview on SSN then seemed telling. He was asked why Sanchez was on the bench, and he said with a smile, “Well, you cannot explain every single decision. That is the decision of the day”. Then again, wouldn’t expect him to be so chirpy if he knew Sanchez was off?

I guess that may depend on who he has lined up to replace him.

Saying someone has a slight injury so not on the bench is surely a more likely ruse for a transfer in the offing than not risking injury for someone having a medical by actually putting him on the bench and more than likely bringing him on at some point where Chelsea could crock him in 30 seconds. Especially if they think he might be heading here.

If that was the case they would start him.

They started him v Liverpool 3 days before the summer transfer window closed. Thats when he looked nailed on to come to us. So Wenger didn't give a shit if he got injured. Or couldn't give two fucks wether a deal was nearly done to us.
