I think it's a good bet. We are talking about Arsene "living in the past" Wenger and an owner who would rather not spend a penny. All it takes is for Bordeaux to say we want £45M for Malcolm and Arsene Wenger retreats back into his office muttering to himself how much Man City have ruined football.

Laporte and alves were also set on joining city until they changed their minds. Can see Sanchez getting fed up with us playing around and just join Utd instead.

I mean, he is a great player, but this reason doesn't worry me a bit. His one slight as a player is his desire to be the focus/top dog. That's not going to be the case here. And reminding him this is a culture of "team" from the start isn't the worst thing. *IF* he wants to turn down his best chance to win a Premiere League title, and be a part of something as special as this season is, because he isn't feeling "loved" enough by how much we are willing to spend, then good riddance. All that being said, I think there is just a lack of interesting story lines this window, and the media is just using this to get some clicks.

On the assumption that this transfer will probably drag out until the end of January or until Arsenal get a replacement which might not happen again. The question is do we really need him right now coming in and unsettling the side? Personally I would sign him in then summer for free which means that the player gets big fat signing on fee and we save a packet.

Before anyone jumps all over me I think the rag story is B.S and the player himself has made it quite clear who he wants to sign for.

At which stage Kroenke could well knock on his door and remind him that transfer targets will likely be just as expensive in the summer if not more so. I still think they'll sell this month.
