I have no idea* why you would have such a reaction to a young player coming off a good season. One who has a fantastic attitude and put his neck on the line to join us.

He's not a great/elite player like Aguero or Sanchez but he's still a very good one and more than good enough for our squad.

I'd be delighted to have him as one of our potential 5 of Aguero, Jesus, Sanchez, Sterling & Sane, competing for the 3 forward positions.

*I do really, it's because you've been brainwashed by the media into disliking him.

Or perhaps some fans come the conclusion (having watched him week in week out all season) that he is a very good player but does not have the ability to get to the level Pep is trying to take us to.

Our owners get it, our manager gets it and seemingly our players and soon to be players get it. It's about time our fans get it. We want a world class squad with no drop off in quality. A squad where there's no defined strongest 11, where the team is picked dependant on form and the opposition and the style we're intending to play. Nobody will be sold to accommodate Sanchez. A front five of Kun,Jesus,Sanchez,Sane and Sterling is formidable and i don't envisage Pep will have any trouble keeping them all happy. It will mean we can go into games like the league cup Derby last season and play a team that will win, and we can go into the champions league last 16 tie with more than just Navas and Kelechi on the bench to look to when we desperately need a goal.

Well the level we're trying to get to is winning the CL and in my view Sterling has probably been our best player in that competition over the last two seasons.

brainwashed by the media?? I couldn't give a shit what the media opinion of sterling is
first season under Pellegrini he was pretty awful playing on the left ......last season he played very well at the start of the season before dipping in form after christmas.........
Don't ever see him becoming a top player consistently .........Sane is twice the player

Except that Sane did nothing before Christmas and plays well in one half of a game before disappearing in the other.

I don't 'hate' or dislike him for it though because he's a young lad and will get better.

Aguero, Jesus, Sanchez, Sane & Sterling would arguably be the best front 5 available to any club in the world.

Sterling is a good player, he was our best player against Barcelona and Monaco at home. Two of our best performances of the season against excellent opposition. At his best he's at that level in big Champions League games, and at his worst, he's a top 4 player minimum.

Not every player in a squad has to be elite or world class, they need to provide different options. Sterling, along with Sanchez, are the best defensively for example. If you had a squad of 22 Messi's you'd have total chaos before half of them wouldn't be able to play every game.
