The positive spin crew?!? HAHAHAHA

How else are you supposed to see our record breaking season so far exactly?

You couldn’t make this shit up
It could always be worse. We could not be having the best season of any team in a major European league in HISTORY at this stage.

I'd personally rather sign a world class player like Sanchez and give him 3 good years under Pep than a younger player who we may have to wait many seasons to get the best out of. We have Sane, Sterling, Bernardo and Jesus for that so we are not desperate for young attacking talent.

Now is the time to kick on and drill home our advantage. The long-term building blocks are in place as our recent signings have seen to that. Let's get the players for the moment and go for the CL.

We are doing pretty well without him though aren't we!

I don't really want to go down this route. He is a good player but he is not Messi/Ronaldo standard.

I'm not sure how spunking loads of money and wages on someone would go down with the likes of Kun/De Bruyne. Sane has been a bit lacklustre recently and he may be thinking it is he who is at risk.

My concern is that our squad is light but not light of Sanchez neccesarily. I think we need CB and left back more but if Jesus is out longer than expected then perhaps a forward would help. I always thought it was risky going into the season with two.

you are blinded by the rags getting him,if he goes there for the money and not here for beautiful football then fuck him,we have our limit for him going for free soon and we should stick to it,we don't sell our best players so we need to stay in a budget,we have more than enough to win the league and we got to the semi of the CL with a much worse team,i want him but not if he is going to let his agent rinse us

It isn't your money, why should you care?

Pay the premium and disappear from the chasing pack I say.

It's not sustainable to keep throwing money at a problem which was why Mancini had to go. Our signings now all fit a very specific criteria on the pitch wheras United spend for the brand. Klopp said Woodward told him United was like 'Disney Land'. Embaressing tbh. £90m on Pogba because he can dab and meme who cares if Mourinho struggles to fit him in a team. People scratched their head at Walker and Stones going for £50m but looking at performances we spent very astutely and United look like a disjointed team with square pegs in round holes. All of City's pegs are interchangable.

Spending for the brand will keep them competitive and ensure they keeping making enough money to spend.

Also, Pogba hasn't hit the expected heights so far but he is still a fantastic player and they are a much better side with him in it. There is no doubt in my mind that he will turn out to be a good signing for them, just like Lukaku who will bag them 30 goals in all comps most seasons. When they get the balance right, which they will eventually, they will be challenging for all honours IMO.

I think in the current market £20m for one of the best players in the PL is very low, regardless of contract length.
I agree.

Imagine if KDB/Sergio were in the same position, we would consider it almost derisory.

I cant believe we have said this is the maximum we will pay.

Declaring this, has given United encouragement to outbid us.

If Arsenal are in advanced stages of the malcom deal does that not suggest they have already agreed a Sanchez fee and knkw what they are getting? That suggests to me that City are still in the best position as they started talking to Malcom prior to United's interest.

Can't help comparing this with the Van Persie scenario. Same clubs involved. Just don't want us to fuck up this time.

But how did that work out for them? They won the league one season then that was it. He was Taggerts retirement gift to himself! A season later and He was done and he cost a fortune in wages.

I think the fact he could end up at united is clouding people's judgement on this. If the money is not right for us then it is not right. We have had our pants pulled down in the past by players like Robinho and Adebayor but we had no choice at the time. Now we do.

Our strategy is streets ahead in terms of long term sustained success.
