And here’s one for you. Do you think City’s hand with KDB will be: (a) weakened or (b) strengthened by their refusal to offer Sanchez £400k?

And here’s another. Do you think other City stars are: (a) more likely or (b) less likely to come knocking for improved terms?
Maybe it's just me but I recall a few years ago watching before a City game against someone.... doesn't really matter but how warmly El Hadji Diouf was greeted during the warm up by the city players at the time, this shocked me a little but got me thinking even though he was a loathsome individual, to 99.99% of footballers this whole thing is a show they have more in common with each other than any of us, when it comes down to it it's a case of them and us(all the kissing of the badge and stuff is just total bollocks and part of the "show"). So to answer your questions to the first question because city have not spent the money on Sanchez they have money to play with. However I'm sure KDB will now be looking for more.
Question 2 like Neymar in the summer every time a major transfer happens it changes the market and all clubs are impacted.Do you think we would get Jesus for 20 odd Million after what happen in the summer? My overall point is though that nothing that happens in football can be seen in isolation and united paying 400k to Sanchez will impact City directly moving forward.

Clutching at straws here but does anyone think there could be a double double bluff going on. Sanchez's agent knows he wants City and that City want him. Leak stuff about stupid wages and that the scum want him thinking that City will bend over and happy days. His client goes to City on vastly improved terms and he gets a wedge. Only problem is that City say do one and brief the press they aren't interested and he is left with an unhappy client despite the wage increase. Client tells his agent to sort deal out with City and stop messing them around as money doesn't mean as much as playing for Pep and City?

This theory only works if you actually sign said younger player on lower wages AND if you are living in a world where the Sanchez wage isn't known by said players agent.

A little role-play here KDB's agent comes to the CFA Wednesday morning to wrap up hie new contract for one second do you think that the topic of Sanchez earning 400k won't come up??

Spot on mate....whether its the rags or us, deals like this change the landscape for everyone! Those saying we did right in not paying Sanchez's wage demands, need to wait for Kev and many other extensions to be completed. We'll be walking away from alot of deals if we want to take this approach on any world class signings in the future...

Anyway, looks like its done so we got to move on...hopefully we still have plans to improve the squad in Jan....yesterday showed we still have needs to fill.

No

Glad to announce that I've gotten over yesterday's dissapointment. Now I can only hope that the club's stance will proveto be the right one. Upwards and Onwards!

I should say in relation to my post reading it back it almost sounds like I'm being critical of agents, but that wasn't my intention at all, their job is to get the best deal they can.

Once I saw Sam Lee's piece I knew to be fair. My worry is Alexis is better than all of United's forwards, he's also better than all of ours.

True, but with Pep's record of improving players and Mourinho's record of making them regress I don't think that will be the case for much longer.
