At the time we were interested in both mate....so must have had plans to keep both happy! Genuine question, could one have moved over to cover the left side for situations like this?
I think you can use the same argument for not signing alves as sanchez age commitment etc.
Danilo is not brilliant but he can cover both sides of a fashion

I still think he's coming to us

I think it depends how genuine the reports are that we've walked away. If that has been communicated to Sanchez's agents then it's over. If its media speculation, anything can happen, although united seem nailed on based on majority of reports in the last 24 hours.

With Jesus out and Aguero not looking as sharp as usual it does seem that we are lacking numbers in that area, especially with the amount of games we have. Agree as well with the concerns if anything were to happen to Fernandinho, he looked tired yesterday and we really don't have anyone to replace him if he were to get injured.

We clearly have an amazing squad that is performing incredibly well, but fatigue and injuries still happen. I just hope not bringing in a forward to share the burden with Aguero and Jesus (when fit) doesn't come back and bite us.

one of the reason i think it's not done is yesterday's match.... we are still in 4 competitions with a realistic chance of atleast 2 trophies and can really have a great go at the quadruple. Pep would have seen how kun is out of sorts (maybe heel injury is still there) and even if jesus comes back he's not in great form.....and has not scored in a while...we are scoring from different areas and hence our brilliant run so far

Pep knows that it being mid Jan , we are in 4 competitions - one step away Carabao Cup final , in the FA Cup fourth round with a non premier league team , and good draw in the Champions League Round of 16 - so getting Sanchez will help us greatly along with a LB if possible. So , don't think its just done yet.

City may have been prepared to increase their £20m valuation of Sánchez but it is understood they have balked at the signing-on fee wanted by a player who is out of contract in the summer and the payment expected by Fernando Felicevich, his representative

City have been in discussions with Sánchez and Felicevich since before last summer. Yet it is understood each upped their demands late last week.

Ok would have liked Sanchez and thought it was pretty much nailed on in fact. If he goes to the scum then it's a minor let down, nothing more. Let them wankers shell out that for him. As people have stated, it's almost refreshing that we're calling the shots on this one. So if he doesn't come we move on, but to whom? Not sure really. Really don't fancy Griezman. Pretty boy who doesn't graft and press enough if you ask me, especially at the price being quoted. Aubameyang would be a similar package to Sanchez I think, and is 29 so no thanks. Liked the shout for Mertens though, not prolific but a workhorse.

If we've actually told his agent to fuck off because we value a good team mentality over him then I can't not respect us for that.

For all we know, he might've already signed for them and they're just waiting to announce it later on before their game for maximum exposure. But if it isn't as far down the line as that, it will need Sanchez to perform a u-turn on his supposed acceptance of United's terms because City are clearly not budging on what we've offered him.

That doesn't surprise me in the least

Let’s face it, any team/squad is better with Sanchez in it so unless we go out and sign Griezmann then I will be very disappointed come the end of January. Crying out for more striker options even when Jesus is back and fit
You know Gaz I'm not sure that's true. He is a great player, or at least he has been, but he seems to be a divisive figure. There appear to be half the Arsenal first team who don't like him. Could be his wages or his attitude or a combination. The point is, City clearly have a togetherness now, evident in the way they support each other & the fun they have on the training ground & that is not worth threatening by a petulant player.

I know others have said it, but having said he wants to play for Pep for a year or so & turned down PSG on that basis, to go to a rival club on the basis of wages is perhaps showing his true colours. We'll see.
