Alexis Sanchez

Brennan says City "have left the door open to Sanchez" and that if he wants to come to City he can by accepting the deal agreed in the summer. We have heard nothing from Sanchez. If he does want to play for Pep he can. It may be Arsenal are trying to coerce him by negotiating with United but Sanchez can put a very hefty spanner in those works if he wants to. If he's not that keen then City have done the right thing and put the harmony of the dressing room above the ambitions of one player. As one poster said some time ago, it is no message to send to those players who have got us into the position we're in that a disgruntled gunner will come in on £150000 pw more than any of them because he wants the medal they've won for him. If he'll come on last summer's deal he'll be very welcome.

SSN saying that city have walked away from the deal because of the ridiculous fees involved, despite Sanchez telling city in the “strongest terms” that we were his preferred choice

Can see that going down well at the swamp and will spawn a thousand songs
Apparently they aren’t bothered about us, Liverpool is their big game

He’s considerably better and more experienced than both Sané and Sterling. That’s not to say they both won’t end up being better by the time they get to 29 but he is better than them both right now.
He may be better, but he'd not be better than either in the team on arrival, and is it really worth upsetting the equilibrium of a side that had lost just once this season.
Yes he'd be a welcome addition at the right price, but not if it jeapordises future transfer budgets

Wont be at the rags news conference when he has to read the prescribed script of how that little boy inside him to join the biggest bestest richest and most sucessfull club in the world with 1.4 bn fans rather than lickle plastic city with no istory and empty seats.

And that surely is the point. For all the talk of him disrespecting Pep, it is the opposite. Sánchez realizes that we don't need him as much as we did. Probably feels let down and is listening to a very good personal offer from Utd. He doesn't want to go there hence all the dragging of feet. He wants to come to us but we don't see him as fundamental to our future.

he has 2 maybe 3 years left at the top. he'll win nothing at the swamp. if he really doesn't want to go why up the anti and put us off?

can only be greed.
