We probably do need an out and out forward in 12 months because Aguero wont go on forever. He may even want to go to Independiente. But sanchez isn't an out and striker now. I don't think he's played a single game as centre-forward this season. He'll play deeper and deeper as time goes by. Right player at the wrong time.
Only way it might have worked was as a short term cover for injuries, and I think he and we would have been uncomfortable with that.
Still not done though until he's off the market. Sooner he signs for Utd the better as far as I am concerned.

He's always motivated. Players like him are. Utd need another forward because Rashford isn't it, and Lukaku is not good enough and they know that. I'd rather they buy a 29 year old for the next 3-4 years on wages that will leave him there for 3-4 years, than get a Griezmann, Mbappe etc which they will surely stumble on if they keep spending £100m a season on players. Lukaku and Sanchez forward line, kills them as a rival for the short to medium termAs much as I appreciate the stance taken by the club, I don't want to see a motivated and hungry Sanchez signing for United. Agreed, we will need an elite striker to replace Aguero in the near future. Maybe, the World Cup produces a new star and we can get him.
