If fergie left the club in a mess what the hell is maureen going to leave behind. His contract extension is his way of getting more money on transfers nothing more and he will never see out his term.

They may get short term success with Sanchez but they need more than him plus all teams in top 6 are rapidly going to invest especially us with youth. I can see them going for bale and Ronaldo in the summer.

Utd will have serious issues within 3 years just when our youngsters are coming into their prime. Pep is so vital to city and he’s the the one I would throw the cash at to stay.

I see the whole football outlook changing as this money can not be maintained.

Good times to be a blue but of course only whilst the oil is still around.

mate, the whole point about our business plan is that we are no longer reliant on "oil money". The owners came in and put the foundations in place but its the Club (City group) that is now pushing forward as one of the biggest clubs in the world. The whole point about FFP is that a club cant get handouts, it has to be self sufficient and thats what we are today.....The rags have a short term plan but whether we like it or not, they can afford to do things that way....we have a business model that means its very rare we'll pay more than what we feel a player is worth, which means we could miss on some of the top players in the transfer market. As my comments on this thread show, I dont always agree with that approach but you have to respect it. Back to your point, its not oil that keeps us strong, its the brand and its growing from strength to strength...

I started to consider it when Jesus got injured because Aguero is struggling and can't play every game, and I don't see anyone in the market. However, now Jesus is fit, I am happy we are not signing him. I rate Sanchez's technical ability. I think he will do a decent job in midfield for Utd, but I don't see him as a top forward any more.

Anyone who buys him is stuck with him for years, and he will become a footballing liability. Like Rooney was at Man Utd. He was class, but his legs have gone.

I am happy that Utd are spending so heavily on him. The only way they catch City is through the transfer market and they can outspend us. if they ear mark massive resources for this deal, it means that their ability to compete with us in the future for forward players is compromised.

It is ridiculous the monies being talked about regarding this transfer,of course, but the whole game from top to bottom is money orientated, they are all greedy bastards, even though they try to hide behind the agents,we have had them, and no doubt will again, but seriously, who gives a shit about wages etc etc, when your team is winning games and you have been there to witness it,you don't walk off back to car and think yea but he's on X amount a week,it means fuck all to us,the fans,we have players who are probably on a lot more money than they should be,but again, who am I to give 2 fucks about that,as long as they keep winning, that will do for me

They bought him to win the league, the following season we had,and it worked, not all by him I admit, but his contribution certainly helped their cause,we know what they do when their backs are against the wall, and it's happening again, thankfully though, from our part,we are in a lot better shape on the field these days to cope with any challenge,so I'm pretty relaxed about it,but I'd have sooner him gone anywhere apart from there if you know what I mean

Spent big and won the title, once, nothing since.

I'd rather him there than at Chelsea for example, the ego's in that dressing room when things aren't going well will be a joy to behold, he's smashed their wage structure, not that it had much structure to it in the first place, they'll all be clamouring for parity. It's fucking great news if the costs being touted are correct. Another nail in their coffin

No, I think sanchez made some sense last Summer, and it made some sense as a cover for injuries. Long term it makes no sense for any football club looking to win the title which is why none of the top football clubs are in for him even though he is available on a free. Real madrid, barcelona, Bayern, Juve, City, chelsea. All the usual suspects are not interested. And those clowns go and make him one of the highest paid players in world football.

You can’t be sure if these clubs are or were in for Sanchez. Going by the tabloids Bayern, PSG and us were very interested only 6 months ago. And all the clubs you mentioned might still be interested if Sanchez stays at Arsenal and walks for free. We were that interested we offered him a huge bonus for if he would come to us on a free.

And what is long term in football? 3 years is long term it seems. Either you agree with it or not, but in football it is. Pep so far signed for three years. Just saying. If Sanchez win the rags some serious silverware he might simply be worth all the money they pay for and to him. Time will tell.

Someone should ask Wenger to come out and explain just exactly what he means by that statement and break it down because, fat chance, it just stinks of bias for me. No one will ever convince me that the cosy three still exist in some form. The Rags, Arse and Dippers.

Thrown a player in they didn’t want and wanted off their books and signed a much improved player.

At a price that will hinder them up until he is 34 - Short term fix for mourinho to try and challenge next season. It may or may not happen, but what will happen is when sanchez stops performing whilst taking home that wage the united fans will be moaning like fuck just like they did with rooney

All the while sanchez knows that he wont be bothered. The long term planning by united is non existent, they had to get sanchez at whatever cost

All my utd mates say we only have money because our owners own all the oil. I’m also told the oil is running out so we are going to be fooked soon.

Is this not true ?

Tell your mates that our owners own far more than just oil and that the majority of research into other sustainable energy and fuel sources is scientifically back by the Arab nations. They're not stupid, unlike your rag mates who incidentally are a bunch of brain dead twats.

Oh for sure, there is every chance it will implode, even their manager has the biggest ego around,so it will either be kept in house,or we will see cracks appear, but if for instance Pogshite or one or 2 others start crying for more money, they will get it,because they always find the money from somewhere, always
