Alexis Sanchez

It has been said on this thread a few times but thought it would be worth stating it again for those that dont understand why City have not competed with United for Sanchez

There is a great team spirit in the squad and that is because meticulous research is undertaken to make sure each player brought into the club will fit in to the way City do things and much is done to make sure the player wants to come before any transfer is even started. If a player then changes his mind (Laporte) or moves the goalposts (Sanchez) or agitates for more (Seluk/Toure) then City on principle are prepared to back out of the deal for good unless the player agrees to come back on the terms agreed by City. City only want players who want to be here for the right reasons and money is not the right reason its a by-product of why you are here not the reason

Does that mean City will miss out on some players yes but the upset it will cause if one players is earning double what any of his teammates were on could upset the whole team dynamic and that is something that City are not prepared to gamble on

Pep and the management team seem to have all bought into that ethos so its not likely that we will see Pep throw his toys out of the pram should we fail to get one of his targets as he will understand that the player or agent must have changed the deal. I dont think we will ever see a deal where a player wants to come and agrees a deal but City dont pay what the selling club demand obviously within reason

All we can do is respond in the summer by signing a better forward with more years left in him than Alexis and render their attempt at a short term fix completely pointless by winning the title every year until Sanchez leaves.

Yes, but RVP's game came to a grinding halt, and was predictable. Looked at in pure footballing terms, Sanchez will do what any world class forward does. Slow up and start playing deep. We don't need that. Maybe Utd will find room for that, but as a club looking to win titles and to compete for the Champions League, I want to see players at their prime at our football club. Every City fan still loves Yaya but it makes me sad watching him play. Sanchez is following Yaya's path now. That's what I think. I could be wrong, and you could be right and hence the interest in football. We'll see how it works out.

I agree with you in the scenario of Sanchez goes backwards, that would be bliss personified, but I will stick to my guns that they always come up with something when their backs are against the wall, this fella, could,be the key,it does come with an element of doubt, but he just could be the player to turn their fortunes around, and that would piss me off no end

Sounds to me like the old cünt was just determined not to let us have him. His sycophantic attitude to those rag bastards is sickening to the point of being corrupt. Cosy fucking cartel for sure.

This is another reason I wish we would just fucking outspend everyone.
You'd have thought Wenger's disdain for Moureen would make him less inclined to do business with them.

If this deal & VVD to LFC proves anything, it's that in spite of their differences, their collective hatred of City trumps the lot!

I still think Sanchez would have been what we are missing. We need a Tevez/Suarez/Costa type figure. We are so classy and relaxed that sometimes we switch off. I thought Sanchez could inject that raw passion and aggression we sometime lack. I want somebody to go mental on the pitch when we are flagging.
One thing is us not getting him, going to them is a double kick in the bollocks. If he does well, we are going to have to suffer this week in week out.

But i have to trust in the club to know what they are doing. Too many times i have felt the club have made a mistake only to be proved wrong in the long run.
Joe Hart was my biggest reaction. I hated what the club did to him. I thought we had bigger problems in other areas of the pitch to address first. Bravo only served to reinforce that belief. Yet now we have a goal keeper that can be around for years and is a massive upgrade and will only get better and better. I know i'm being greedy, but i think i just wanted a boost of signing a big player and finally snuffing out any hope them twats have of winning anything again...

Arsenal fans view is quite interesting if you have time.

Seen some rumours that Batshuayi maybe on his way to Dortmund, Carroll to Chelsea and Aubameyang to Arsenal.

I think Batshuayi could be a decent player. Scored a proper strikers goal v Norwich but for the most part was rubbish, but I bet that that is just confidence. Moyes was as Stamford Bridge last night apparently watching him. Would be a bit of a shock if Carroll went to Chelsea.
