Where does City need to Strengthen?Best outcome for City, although it doesn't seem like Pep would agree, is if Alexis signs his mega-contract offer at Arsenal and City sign a player in a position City need to strengthen.

Strangely, I agree with you on this. The faact that one on one he can't beat a man for pace any more. A problem if you are a wide forward. He's like Yaya in our last title winning season and you do not replace someone like Aguero with a player in a similar position to him.
Guardiola is under massive pressure next season. I can see why he would want him. Part of me does too. But I also have a doubt. Not convinced it would be a good deal long term. Get the full backs and a central defender in. If we want a replacement for Aguero, then get Mbappe or Dembele. Not a player who will be like a RVP for 12 months.
I agree with your analysis on Sanchez but disagree with your analysis of what we need.We we have a difference of opinion over Sanchez. I don't thnk he will last 3-5 seasons. His game has always been about pace and power. He's lost the explosive pace. He'snow a goal scorer and isn't that special out wide. I prefer Aguero or Jesus up front. He also likes to drop deep, but we have KDB and Silvas for that. I am sure he will be playing n 3 - 5 years but not at the current level.
You remember Toure 2-3 seasons ago? That is where I think Sanchez is now, so I have my doubts over whether he would be a good buy
If it does not affect our plans for other players then that isn't so bad, but I am not sure about that. This is a trophy signing that appeals to fans, but I want to win the league next season. Best way of doing that is using the £50m ear-marked for Sanchez and sticking it down on VVD. I suspect it's already too late now in that regard as the central defender targets lined up seem fanciful.
You get the players in who you prioritise. We haven't prioritised a central defender. It doesn't look that way anyway. Whether Alexis marginally improves City I do not care for. It is arguable as to whether he would add to City because you can only play 11. But I am nowhere near as confident as you in Stones and Otamendi. 12 months ago, many fans thought Kompany was finished. Thankfully they were wrong. But I really doubt he will play more than 30 plus games and we really need to strengthen that position.
I do. He is an explosive talent. And I think that's probably what Marvin mean by "pace and power."Btw, is there anyone here other than Marvin who thinks Sanchez game is based on pace and power? Anyone?
Keep calm & buy them all ITS NOT YOUR MONEY so just go with it.This.
You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and you are a smart guy so ignore anyone who gives you crap. Just shows themselves up to be honest.
That said I don't agree that he'll have less freedom at City. I think he'll dictate his own role because Pep will have that much faith in his maturity as a player familiar with Pep's system.
But he could be a flop too as anyone could be. Hope not. Hope he's phenomenal.
That's a point that has no counter :)I completely disagree with this.
We haven't even mustered a title challenge for the last 3 seasons and last season we struggled to score goals. Signing one of the top players in the PL who will pretty much guarantee 20+ goals and 10+ assists is a no brainer. There is also the winning mentality he will bring and experience that he can give to the likes of Sterling and Sane.
The only question any City fan should ask is whether signing Sanchez gives us a better chance of winning Trophies. I think it's blatantly obvious that he does and therefore anything else is irrelevant.
