We better make sure this Sanchez deal is wrapped up by the start of the season or else we might end up never getting him. Reason is because we will most likely face a transfer ban from this Garre saga, which will just be typical city really. Nothing ever runs smoothly for us, either someone else out to stop us or City causing their own downfalls. We have missed out twice on Sanchez, we can't afford to miss out a third time.

London Evening Standard yesterday stated that Arsenal expect to complete the signing on Tuesday or Wednesday. They mentioned a figure of 50m.

If the Telegraph is right and the Independent is accurate Arsenal have a job on their hands not to fall foul of PL regulations unless they ship out Sanchez OR a fair few other players. I suspect it's both. Arsenal had both Sanchez AND Özil last season and still missed out on the top four. They have to find a way of improving on last season's team while keeping the salary bill under control. Talk of players on £300000 pw won't help with the prudent financial discipline necessary any more than keeping players whose mind is 200 miles further north.

We'll get a 2 window transfer ban which will be January and next summer we'll appeal it and it will be reduced to once which will be just January when we wouldn't of signed any e anyway

Oh the irony. Reap what you sow goonies :-)

Bigger benefits to be had elsewhere?

I'm sure some fans on here don't even watch us play and just listen to the MOTD analysis.

Our defence was not a major issue last season despite what some say. The chances we conceded was no worse than Chelsea, United and Spurs. The difference was they could rely on Coutouis, De Gea and Lloris to make a save. We had a keeper who conceded 16 goals from 18 shots on target. Also factor is the fact Chelsea and United play far more conservative than us and Spurs are a much younger and energetic team.

We've got a new goalkeeper. We're also going to sign new full backs which will improve our defence 10-fold. We also currently have Stones, Otamendi, Vinny and Kolarov, who despite getting a regular bashing on here, is a competent CB with a wicked cross field ball.

The real issue was struggling to put away the likes of Stoke, United, Southampton and Middlesboro at home due to piss poor finishing.

Then again, if you cannot see how having the likes of Sanchez on the pitch can help improve Kun and allow him more space then there's no point in even discussing the issue.
I have said the above a thousand times, but their is a core of City fans who believe we need a saviour Centerhalf, who would save us if Komps can't hold up.

It has more to do with narrative than fact. Other than that though, I enjoy reading Marvin. He is a breath of fresh ideas. Even if I disagree with most of them.

And strangely enough, one who said it was Pep Guardiola.

We were fifteen points behind Chelsea saying there was one issue is a little unrealistic. Finishing was part of the issue I agree. Poor Defending and Goalkeeping contributed as well.
Guardiola himself said the problems were in both boxes.
Yes. The goalie is in that box. :) That said you are right, the problem is not singular. But highlighting CB as a problem area is really a stretch. I think CB play was, one of, if not the strongest part of our team. No other position has its depth and quality across the board.

Yes we can improve it just like we can improve any position, but its the least in need of improving.

Maybe Arsenal are waiting for our transfer case as it could push the price up considerably should we (unlikely) lose and have to deal quickly.

You enjoy Marvin as you don't understand the British wummary.... you don't actually think he believes that shit?
