City reckon they are in pole position for Alexis Sanchez and want him to hold his nerve if Arsenal try to sell him abroad. [@MullockSMirror]

City are aware of Sanchez’s admiration for Guardiola and believe they can sign him in a deal that won't cost more than £40m. [Sunday Mirror]
We should go for the jugular and steal Chamberlain also. Pep could work wonders with this kid , he's so versatile .

£40m for a player in his last year of his contract?

That's why I have doubts over The Telegraph article which states Bayern are to bid £55m for him.

Bayern will spend big on players but out of all the big money clubs they are one of the shrewdest with their money and I just don't see them spending £55m - which I think is close to €65m - on a player who only has one year left on his contract.

I reckon Arsenal are trying to rustle up some foreign interest to make us or any other domestic buyer pay more. If Bayern were going to offer £35-40m I'd be much more worried about the legitimacy of the rumours. The idea they'd offer more than us or Chelsea just doesn't add up when they know arsenal would much rather sell abroad.

If it is true that Sanchez wants to leave then it leaves Arsenal in a poor negotiation position.

If you are Bayern - or any interested foreign team - then you are at a bonus because the likes of Rummenigge can just turn around to Wenger and co and say you have an unhappy player who wants to leave and we are interested, sell him to us but at the expense of a low fee or risk Alexis demanding a move to one of your rivals. You may get a higher fee, but you have significantly weakened yourself and made a domestic rival much stronger.

That's why I think this talk of £55m bids from Bayern is nonsense.

I reckon they could get him for £25m/£30m, wheras we will probably have to end up paying in the region of £40m.

The saving grace on this is that the arsenal board won't give a fuck what wenger wants! They will want the best price for Sanchez and won't accept £25m from Bayern when they can get £40m from city! Sanchez, walker and hopefully Sandro? Erm.....yes please!!!

Or Chelsea, we should not get into a bidding war

I don't think Chelsea will go for him to be honest mate. Wasn't it proved that his comments about wanting to stay in London were bullshit? Also the most trusted reporter in chile who is always bang on the money says Sanchez wants us and pep and the feeling is mutual. I hope this summer we just get deals done asap and look forward to causing some severe damage next season!
