If I was Arsenal, I'd refuse and cling to the hope that he will agree to extend his contract.

I think Sanchez has made it clear he's not signing a new contract and he's asked to leave. For the good of the squad it's probably best to ship him out before pre season and re invest the £50m.

Why would he?

Next season he leaves on a free and every man and his dog will be interested in him. He would only have to wait till January to start talking to clubs.

If he wants to leave then Arsenal would be daft to not sell him this summer.

Either he signs a new deal in the next few weeks or he goes simple. Very few clubs in world football and Arsenal are not among them would do otherwise.

Arsenal fans will go into full meltdown and I would love to see that but this transfer isn't happening soon at all and have serious doubts if it even happens. Wenger would rather him run out his contract than come here this summer and for once I can see the board backing him on seeking to a Premier League team.
And lose £50m, I very much doubt they are that stupid

I guess it all depends on what he has said to the club. If he has told them in no uncertain terms that he will not extend his contract and wants to leave, then perhaps. But even then, where can you find a replacement of his quality for even £100m? If he really is trying to force his way out, then I'd imagine that Arsenal will try to force him to move away from the Premier League. Then, things could drag on and on until one of them blinks.

Do you really think a club that has for years given itself a trophy for The Football Industry's Best And Most Sustainable Business Model is going to pass up the opportunity to put tens of millions of GBP in Kron . . . errrr . . . Usi . . . errrr . . . its own bank account just to let a player run down a contract?

No way.

Wenger LOVES -- I repeat, L-O-V-E-S -- playing the victim. It's his defining characteristic.

There's more options than just running the contract down, that's what Wenger would rather over selling to a Premier League rival. Bayern would stump up a nice sum. Sanchez could even go ahead and sign that big bumper contract at Arsenal. I want Sanchez here if he is available but it'll be an absolute ballache and won't happen in the next few days. I just feel Arsenal losing out on the Champions League are now going to be even stricter and letting their top players go to rival clubs.

£50 mil Sanchez £40 Mil CL that's a big hit I don't see how keeping him achieves anything they risk Sanchez joining us anyway on a freeman next season I think they will sell.

Wenger, WTF

Mal Cardenas sounds like some dude just guessing. No one should take it seriously.

Its no different from someone here saying the same.

Bayern won't pa 50 = guess
City will pay 50 = guess
Price is 50 = guess
Alexis wants City = guess
Wenger wants Bayern = guess

Its all meant to stoke drama.

They apparently cannot afford him

Have to wait and see on that front and I hope it is true because it really would force Arsenal's hand but I really do feel Arsenal are thinking they are in danger of drifting away from the top 4 and watching revenue drop.

He's mint on Chilean transfers!

Can we not do a deal with Bayern, where they buy him and sell him straight to us for a profit. Now that would send the tarquins crazy
