Sorry mate it was tactical. Gladbach away was a joke.
I've said this before to you Bill, last season it was as if Pep had a noose around his neck with the fullbacks we had in the squad, they're so important to his system. All four fullbacks we're over the age of 32 and the need to constantly rotate due to age and fitness, let him get "his" fullbacks in place and watch the energy and fluidity of our play change. All i'm saying is if we hit our targets which is looking more likely each day then just sit back and watch it unfold before your eyes.....enjoy!

Because Aguero was coming off an injury. Whether Alexis has kicked a ball for us or not is irrelevant. If Messi was this heavily rumoured to join id be saying he'd be the best player at the club.
A bit like Toress when the Chavs bought the leagues best player? Absolute nonsense to suggest someone who hasnt kicked aball for us will be our best player.

I've been reading quotes from Wenger, all week, which said the player's 'won't be leaving' & this morning I've read what appear to be the exact same quotes, but this:

‘This summer, first of all, they will stay at the club and hopefully we can extend their contract,’ Wenger said.

‘You know, you cannot weaken the club and weaken the team. We want to strengthen the team…unless you find a player of the same calibre and they absolutely want to leave. I believe that at the moment we are not on that front. We are just focused on keeping the team together and see how to strengthen the team.

I've not seen that line before, so either he didn't say it, or, the reports I've seen edited it out, & then you have to wonder exactly why it was edited out.

Yeah he's started adding that caveat. Seems to be if Mahrez, James or Lacazette drops for them, then blue cones are out.

A typical Bayern bench this season would contain Kingsley Coman, Douglas Costa, Juan Bernat and Thomas Muller. Quite the step up from Navas, Nolito, Kolarov and Iheanacho don't you think? That's what he have to strive towards.

I agree with this although Aguero was sill banging them in for us last season just maybe you could see that City's attack was not as sharp as it has been in days gone by

I agree mate, however that's what pissed me off about Pep (and Txiki) last season - EVERY City fan on planet earth knew our fullbacks were either wank or over the hill, it was flagrant disregard to not strengthen either side in either window - I said in Jan that even signing Bertrand then would have given the second half of our season a lift.

Yes but you are talking about sides like Bayern and real madrid who totally dominate their leagues. They can accrue the best players in their squads and their players are happy because they play for a totally dominant side who will win their league and be in Cup Finals. Can you confidently say that about City? You can hope it, but I bet Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, SPurs, Liverpool fans are all hoping the same for their clubs.

I'm saying that we're aiming to be that side who totally dominate our league and we're in a better position than anyone to become one.

i just hate it when people act up like jesus will bench aguero. the truth is jesus has nothing on aguero in his prime form. aguero at his best is a world superstar and the boy jesus has a long way to go to reach that level. take for example yesterday's miss against argentina aguero would have walked the ball in the net. bet next season aguero will play more than jesus.
Yeah your'e right. It's not as if Kun has ever missed an open net

Sane and Jesus is the reason we didn't get fullbacks in my opinion its was get them last season or we would be battling with a lot of top clubs for there signature. So 2 new fullback or Jesus and Sane your choice what do you want?

The point is we at least need to try, otherwise what is the fucking point? We know for certain that we can't dominate with the same standard of bench and squad from last season; what we don't know is whether we can dominate with a far superior bench and squad, although logic dictates that we would have a better chance. The only way to find out is to improve the bench and squad to a level that does not diminish the quality of the 11 on the pitch when we need to make a change. This is what we are doing. It's that simple.

I think so too. Last Summer we bought 5-6 top players. Could we really have replaced the defenders as well? One or the other. Guardiola was faced with rebuilding the side and it is going to take two Summer windows to do it. next season though these players have to deliver. There will be a lot of clubs in the same boat: City, Utd, Arsenal and Spurs all have to produce winning teams or their managers will be sacked.

I accept that, but there will also be losers in the squad and they will in the medium term be casualties. That's my opinion. If we have a successful season then maybe it works out well for all, but the coming Premiership season looks the most exciting and competitive ever.
