1 signing and now Arsenal are limited with what they can do, based on what Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ozil decide to do. Probably in terms of squad space and wage ffp.

They only do that with City signings!

Good to know that Arsenal are struggling with what to do next already though because the need much more than just Lacazette. Can't imagine that inspiring Sanchez to stay there.

So they've signed one player and now have to sell to improve the squad again??! lol Sanchez more in demand than Ozil so surely in their best interests just to do the deal now and crack on getting mahrez

My personal opinion is that Wenger would sell but the board are blocking the move, they have been paranoid ever since Usmanov said Arsenals best players would have stayed had he been in charge, they even rejected a 1.5bn offer for their shares which would have given them a 700m profit on their investment, I think they feel they are fighting for their futures as owners of this cash cow and losing 50m is not an issue. They've never worried about the team before, its got nothing to do with Sanchez or Man city but any market research will tell them this sale will alienate the customers in a way that cant be repaired, and a business is nothing without customers.
There is a good chance he will stay and go on a free in the summer, but every new signing helps, had we got Mbappe, Sanchez would have been sold by now.

Going to be interesting which way it goes and who would be our Plan B if this doesn't materialise.

People keep going on about FFP. Arsenal are fine in that department aren't they?

No they're in a bit of trouble with wage FFP. They can only increase by £7m a year. They have signed Kolasinac and Lacazette and need to renew Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanchez and Ozil's contracts. Ozil and Sanchez' demands increase the wage total by £14m (£7m each). Basically they either have a lot of selling to do or they need to sell a big star or 2 if they want to leave.

well we have a 200m surplus accumulated over the last 10 years, which is why I doubt ffp and this %7 pay rise will affect us, surely we can give players some of that money as signing on fee if need be, its money the club made so unless there are new rules that only apply to Arsenal where you cant spend the money you generate, I dont think we have any financial restrictions, that cant be legitimately got round.

You can't raise your wage bill by £7m a season apparently, so giving Sanchez and Özil close to the £300k they both want they will fail, especially when they are adding in Lacazette and possibly Lemar.

You need to read up on the new premier league ffp that your club and that k_nt Gill fast tracked.

The limit is on what % wage increase you can do per annum. That said I have no idea if the figures being touted here are true.

Edit - I checked, 7m is the limit on the increase of base player costs I.e. Wages (excluding bonuses). Any club with a wage bill sub 67m can increase up to 67m without issue. So Arse will be limited to 7m I would think!

These are not new rules, it was 4m a year before, and now 7m a year. The 200m profit generated under the old restrictions get carried forward, so we can spend as we please, on wages.

Yes, we make 3m a home match, and weve been selling our best players for a decade, as you should know, all these are not included in the 7m, the 7m is only to do with the TV deal.
This new rule has been very poorly reported, and interestingly only mentioned when Arsenal were trying to sign players.
The 7m cap is on the new TV deal income, so basically you are only allowed to spend 7m more from the TV income, on wages.
Nothing to do with gate money, prize money, commercial revenue, player sales. Its pretty much irrelevant.
Otherwise, you wouldnt be able to sign Sanchez, Bernardo Silva, Kyle walker, the goal keeper, and only add 7m in wages?
or Everton signing all these players, or Liverpool, pretty much every team's wage bill next season will be more than 7m higher than this, you can clearly see that using common sense.
Unless there is a special rule that only applies to Arsenal, as the papers seem to insist.
