Overall it feels like Wenger has convinced the Arsenal board that Sanchez will continue to perform but if he doesn't they can still sell in January. It's a huge risk for Arsenal on a number of fronts.
Think he might be getting Sigurdsson and Llorente mixed up. Sigurdsson is certainly not a striker, neither is he big or strong or that good a goalscorer. In fact most of his goals come from set-pieces if i'm not mistaken. We already have 3 (maybe 4 including Gundo) playmakers better than Sigurdsson.

Agree that it's likely now... but do not agree that if not now it's never. I cannot see the benefit in them keeping him. By the time the second half of the season comes along he will be thinking that he will want to keep himself fit if he is to get a big contract elsewhere, plus he is looking to go to the World Cup. Not forgetting Arsenal will miss out on a large chunk of money.

I think Arsenal and Wenger have painted themselves into a corner. My guess is that Wenger's strategy was to hold out until a foreign club came in with a decent bid. If that doesn't happen he then has to hold onto a disguntled player in the final year of his contract or sell to City.
