I just saw a post on MCFC's Twitter account from a fan.... 'If Sterling goes, we riot!'

If Sterling ever needed to know what most City fans think about him, that tweet says it all. For all his faults, Sterling stuck to his guns to join us & we supported him when the rest of the country turned on him.

I badly want Sanchez, but Sterling is truly one of us, so let's just get a cash deal sorted ASAP or they can have £40m plus Mangala if he'll go, or £45 for Sanchez & Gibbs with Mangala goung to them.

We've plenty of advantageous options we can offer.
I like your post and I really like Sterling. I hope he stays, and also progresses, as a City player for years to come.

I reckon the Sterling part was just propaganda by Arsenal and their media buddies.
This allows Wenger to say that he tried to do the best for Arsenal but that the two baddies, Sanchez and Sterling, were against him and he reluctantly decided to sell Sanchez to get the money and get rid of an unhappy player; he's just used Sterling, who is shown in the media to be a bad boy anyway
Exactly this.

You can see Wenger now saying to fans.

"Well we tried "

Are you for real?

More likely they saw Sanchez taking Sterling's spot in our side, so tried to test the water hoping Sterling will accept a first team role at Arsenal. Wishful thinking anyways.

We need more players in the squad ready for first team football so other than those that we know have no future at the club we need to increasing our stocks not letting players who are required go for obvious reasons.

At this point, the money and the "deals" are just taking the piss. Let him stay and get him for nothing. They know he's unhappy and they are not going to get anything like what they want out of him this season, so let THEM blink!

I'd tell them £30M & Mangala or Denayer or fuck off, and we'll take care of Sanchez in January, when he can talk to anyone!

City have to stop being bent over by teams who think we are desperate. We aren't! But, we have to stop acting like we are!

And, while I'm at it...£30M for Evans? GMAFB!!!

Sanchez wants to come here, if they don't let him leave they'll have a royally pissed off Chilean stinking the place up and damaging team spirit even more, and then he'll leave for free next year, costing them £60m~ of vital cash which they can use to appease the fans who are livid at the way their club has gone downhill. We WILL sign him, today, tomorrow or next year.

In short, little old City have Arsenal by the balls and it's beautiful.

These Sterling rumours have been going on for 24 hrs now, and are in every paper and across main stream news sites too. Why haven't the club refuted them?

I personally think we are seeing a seismic shift in the footballing landscape in England, City have bulldozed itself into the elite and whilst many in the media, other club owners, managers and players have not wanted to recognise it this just about puts the final nail in the old elite coffin haha
Arsenal best player doesn't want to play there and with a year l ft on his contract wants a move to us! now we have bought other players from other clubs before eg,Sterling but for me this is the biggest purchase others might not agree and point to the Tevez signing or Sterling but the hurt this will cause Arsenal is huge and a worldwide superstar signing for City will be broadcast to the world. Just my opinion anyway.

Out of interest, where are all the posters that said Arsenal wouldn't sell him if he played against Liverpool? Are they still sticking to that?

Its such a ridiculous notion, invented by those that would seek to cause us harm, that the club feel they dont have to.Besides,we are still playing our cards very close.

I feel stupid for actually believing Wenger was serious this time about letting his star man run down his contract. Until the Liverpool game that is.

The body language as well as the general toxic atmosphere around Arsenal at Anfield. You just knew that Sanchez was not going to stay there for another season.

The fact that Ornstein who is to Arsenal what Mullock is to us..has said that a deal is possible at all says that the wind has changed significantly

It's happening folks
Except Ornstein is a great source for Arsenal and Mullock isnt a great source for City. Replace Mullock with Blackburn.

The club has briefed that Sterling isnt part of that deal? 5 journos at the same time reported it yesterday.
