As for being past his best... it’s less than a year since he was tearing up the league. He ended up being stuck at a club he didn’t want to be, playing for a has-been manager with players he clearly doesn’t respect in a team going nowhere

Even a 5% drop in effort and attitude would stand out at this level. He’ll be back to his best the minute he arrives at our club
He’s never really recovered from this career ending injury, and I don’t feel he ever will.

Sanchez could be the difference between a good season and a great season. The striking positions is the only one we lack real depth, and he fits perfectly into how we play, comfortable anywhere in a front 3, all action style suiting the pressing game, scores and creates chances. He's really the last piece. Against Bristol City, we created the chances, but were let down in the final third. I wouldn't worry too much about his age either. Van Persie was older when he joined United that season, and look at the impact he had. If we get 3 good seasons out of him, then brilliant.

Lot's of old wives tales too. I don't see sanchez ever getting his old form back but if we can get him at a reasonable price and use his passing game then I'm sure he can do a job albeit a very different job that most on here are expecting. He is not going to sign for Pep, and then the following week pick up where he left off in 2016-17
Of course he isn’t. He’s not even fit. Looks well off the pace in the last few months.

Pep will get him juiced up to the eyeballs like the rest of the team. The guy will be gurning in no time.
Haha, too right!

To be fair, it doesn’t take elite athletes too long to get back up to full fitness. But he’s had six months playing at 75% so it’s going to have an affect on him

He doesn't even need to get his old form back to make an impact. Playing with David Silva and KDB will give Sanchez more space to work with and he is still better than Sterling and Sane are right now so Sanchez will be more efficient than both of them. If Sane and Sterling played in that Arsenal side, they'd be half as productive. We underestimate the genius of Silva and how much easier he makes it for those around him and Sanchez is going to benefit from it.

He’s been Wenger’s mouthpiece for years, much like Castles with Maureen.

I can’t understand why he’s now leaving Wenger up sh*t creek by stating that Sanchez is now odds on to go, despite Wenger’s vehement denial, even as recently as in tonight’s after match press conference.

Wenger saying what the fans want to hear.
Cross briefing the truth on Wengers behalf.

Even if his form is not as good as last season Sanchez will occupy the opposition as much as Aguero - that's half the battle to allow space for others.

Since Jesus' injury it's become a must to get Sanchez. Not to is criminal now.

Sanchez isn’t a striker though. In fact he’s fourth choice striker at Arsenal (first choice roaming forward). As likely to play Sané and Sterling #9 as Sanchez

True but more than anything now we need cover for Aguero.

I think that's why until Jesus we were not going to go for him in January. We were going to wait till he was "free" because Sané and Sterling were fine and it gave Bernardo more time to play and settle. Then it turns out we need a striker and there aren't any for 30m that are as good as Sanchez would be. I think when Jesus returns Sanchez will go back to being an attacking midfielder.

Thought this might have got done quickly earlier in the week but Arsenal are about as inept as it gets, can't even sort their own contract renewals out nevermind get new ones done.
It'll be their fault if it drags or doesn't happen till the summer
