Arsenal might look at our offer and think, it's low enough that if they can't get a replacement they are willing to write it off. They might feel completely differently about a £35m offer.

And Sanchez can say no thanks I’ll stay until the summer

What the fucks that got to do with anything regarding this transfer? We spent the whole summer trying to get him and to let him to to a rival over the sake of £10/15 mil I just think is embarrassing - ESPECIALLY BECAUSE ITS UNITED.

In today’s market he’s a £100 mil player. Whether we pay £20 mil or £50 mil we are still getting him for a great price - in his prime.

15 points clear or not - we shouldn’t miss an opportunity to sign a genuinely worked class player.
Oddly enough delusional utd fans are claiming he's a 100m player when quite clearly he isn't.
Oops a daisy.

The days of getting embarrassed and upset over united are long gone for me. Everything about our club shines compared to that steaming pile of crap. One signing where they will be spunking 150 million on a 30 year old when we refuse to be held to ransom will not bother me too much. If you feel too bad just look at the league table and try and remember how good we are.

Not ENOUGH random capitals in THAT reply whilst claiming embarrassment whilst 15 points CLEAR.

Only capitals I put were to stress the fact it makes it worse because it’s United who are our closest challenger. Last thing we want is them getting a boost by signing Sanchez.

You’re quick to jump down my throat for voicing my honest opinion. Be interesting to hear yours on Sanchez..?

Any update Ric? You still confident?
I don’t think anyone knows any more than we don’t want to pay £35m but Arsenal want us to pay £35m. That seems to be the only thing stopping it at the minute, and going by the Van Dijk transfer we won’t budge on that even if it means losing out on the player

Rag now am I? Haha

Coutinho went for £140 - for me Sanchez miles ahead than Coutinho. I’d class him in that bracket despite his age.

United are paying a rumoured £25m + Mkhitaryan for him.

Also giving Sanchez £25m signing on fee, 300k a week wages and his agent a pay day.

It’s a £150m+ deal.
I believe that It's our inflexible contract approach that gave them a sniff.

I believe we over played our hand. I don't believe the rags would have got a chance to get involved without our "hardball" approach, in the first place.

Spot on comment.
The news that Jesus is going to be back soon means we can play our hand with confidence.
At the end of the day the player will decide where he goes. Que sera!
I like the stance the club are taking. 20m for a player aged 29 entering the final six months of his deal is enough. Of course you can never have too much talent, but the unity within the squad and the fact that we are unbeaten, so far ahead, and also the great news concerning Jesus are big factors. Pep stated he wants to only buy young players with the future in mind and given the quality we already have this must be the masterplan. Having said all this watch the flapping on here if we lose anytime soon! Happy if we get him, happy if we don't.
It has to be this. Whilst any city fan would want Sanchez to play for us, I don't think we the fans or the club are showing signs of being desperate to sign him at any price, under any circumstances. If he comes fine, if he doesn't fine. We see the Alves situation being dragged up as a parallel to what is happening here, and maybe it is, but we have adapted and flourished without him. Similarly if Sanchez comes then we have a very good addition to our squad, if he doesn't then we carry on to the end of the season and bring in a young up and coming striker to partner Jesus in the long term and continue to rely on Kun to score the goals in the meantime while the new guy beds in and comes up to speed, much as Jesus is now. Sane, Sterling and Bernardo will continue to develop and become world class while youngsters from the academy and elsewhere will follow them to maintain the quality of the squad.
Personally I prefer us not to pander to any one player at the expense of team stability, we have a great spirit in the squad, which is for me, a great part of our success and that has to be maintained at any cost.
All in all, not bothered if he comes or if he doesn't, all it will mean is that our transfer strategy will have to be tweaked to accommodate the changed circumstances come the summer.

Shame, was looking forward to playing a 2-1-4-3 of

Ota Stones
Dinho
Sane kdb Silva Sterling
Gabi Serg Sánchez

Mate I get how good we are and I’m not jealous or envious of United at all I despise the club, fans and everything they stand for. I’d just be gutted if we ended up losing Sanchez to them. I think he’d be unreal here.

Wish we'd been as tight fisted over the Bony and Mangala deals.

Thought this guy was going to help us win the CL. In which case haggling over 10 million or whatever seems shortsighted.

And I am not a fan of the player.
