Depends what "critical" means I guessIf Pep believes Sanchez is a critical recruit Soriano will not let him join a rival this window...IMO

If Sanchez was that much of a 'guarantee' Arsenal wouldn't be sitting in sixth playing Europa League football. He's a good player and we should sign him but he guarantees fuck all.Can you honestly see any other team toppling City with Sanchez in their side?
I can't.
Money shouts in today's game. Did you honestly expect Neymar to sign for PSG at the start of the season? I didn't.
It isn't coming out of our pockets, why should we care? Couldn't give a shit what the total fee comes to, end of the day we will have another world class player to add to our team.
He is an absolute joy to watch, I want to be watching him at my club and not in that poisonous red shirt.
Guaranteed!I know it's not my money, but I'm also not stupid, and I prefer the club I support not to be too.
Paying whatever the seller wants when they have NO LEVERAGE is FUCKING STUPID.
No you can't, but with Sanchez and a couple of high level signings in the summer, you never know. They will certainly narrow the gap between us and them.
Granted, we have the best manager in the world, but the best managers don't always win the league every other season.

Ask Robin van Persie...one thing that confuses me about the United rumours: Isn’t Mourinho Wenger’s arch nemesis? If Wenger holds any sway (which the Sanchez saga seems to suggest), would he ever sanction a move to United?
Why would asking Van Persie tell anyone anything new about Wenger and Mourinho’s dislike for eachother?Ask Robin van Persie
Hadn't realised Mourinho had been there that long, you'd have thought they'd have more stability by now?Ask Robin van Persie
Ask him what?Ask Robin van Persie
I don't always agree about some of the stuff (bollocks!) you post Tolm re transfers, but this is exactly the situation we face. We would improve our squad with this guy, whilst weakening our rivals. Such situations rarely come to pass. Time to be ruthless. You see, this is where I am at odds with seemingly so many of my fellow blues.
We have won nothing yet and I still don't consider us home and hosed in the Premier League, much as the national consensus seems to think so.
The margins have been far tighter in the last couple months and could have gone the other way in the blink of an eye.
Sanchez gives us maximum insurance against further injury, a lack of cutting edge, further impacting the psyche of our rivals, both domestically and abroad.
I don't want the Moral Stance Cup, I want the real stuff and Sanchez coming this month could guarantee the difference.
Put it this way, Sanchez in United's team would certainly get them closer to us before the season ends.
I was making a point that Arsenal would very happily sell to them. As they did with Persie. That's all. Nowt more. Wenger wouldn't have a say.Why would asking Van Persie tell anyone anything new about Wenger and Mourinho’s dislike for eachother?
