Alexis Sanchez

First time I've posted on this thread.

We obviously want Sanchez and losing out on him will be a big let down. There is a reason we have pursued him for the best part of 2 transfer windows.

If reports are to be believed and he has indeed gone to United, then that will be the third time he has chosen not to join us. Make of that what you will.

However, if he has chosen to sign for us then he will be a great addition to our squad.

It seems like guesswork from a lot sources and only time will tell where he ends up.

Oh come on. You know what I meant. Unless you know the precise details of our wage structure and the current status of negotiations with our current players, in which case I apologise profusely.
If you think that an employee paid more than others in an organisation, in differing circumstances, means that all the others are adversely affected and demand parity then fair enough. Maybe at the beeb but not in the organisation's I've worked for. Could it create some issues - yes it could but not what you're infering in my opinion. Anyway all academic now.

One of the very few players who we could realistically sign this window and improves us straight away. Be gutted to see him in a red shirt. Ah well keep the faith and let’s do the dippers today!!

If Pep wanted Txiki to chuck 60 mil at Sanchez, then Txiki would have signed him last week.
If he goes there for more money, I assume Pep will be upset with Sanchez not Txiki. Pep's no fool, he's worked hard to get this squad as tight as it is, he will surely understand it's more complex overall than just chucking huge sums at one player.

It’s a big miss. Jesus has struggled this season and Aguero has also been misfiring and I think we needed another body up there whilst we are challenging for 4 trophies. Would rather have lost him to PSG than them lot

For all those in tears and angry that he has gone to the rags please show the official announcement
What's the point of having a transfer rumours section when people can't comment until the official announcement has been made? What kind of weird ass crusade are you on?

So in the summer when Pep wants another forward. if we want anyone with Sanchez quality or potential. What will that cost us? 100m+?

Yeah, quite possibly. I do actually think a midfielder is more important than a forward tbh. An injury to Fernandinho would leave us in big trouble.

I'm not just saying this now but if given a straight choice between signing an extra attacker or someone to cover/challenge Fernandinho for his position I'd take the latter.

It looks like Jesus will be back around end of Jan so its not as critical as it first looked to get cover. If Fernandinho was to get suspended or injured we'd be in trouble. When we've rested him its had a dramatic effect to the team.
