Alexis Sanchez

Just reminds me of the Pogba deal and I'm pretty happy with how that worked out.

Exactly. The club don't sign players on the same scattergun approach as the rags do nowadays, we don't need to! We are so far ahead on a recruitment basis it is staggering.

If a player becomes available at a good price and is a good fit, we will have enough in reserve to make it happen if we choose/the figures add up. But why would we fuck our whole financial plan to overpay because of another side?

We saw it with Pogba, VVD, Alves, etc.

I am ok with it if it means the club will spend wisley in terms value for money.

But if we go and spend +40m on Fred, Serri ...etc then it doesnt make sense.

Hopefully Sane will be more consistent
Bernardo will show his worth
And Diaz will play more and prove that he deserve to be part of the team.

It will make sense mate if we don't break the wage structure which we would by signing Sanchez if the figutes quoted are true.

I completely trust the leadership, management and team at City (that has made us the best ever team in the English top flight) to decide if he’s worth the extra or not.
I have complete faith that we will continue to roll on whether Alexis signs or not.
If The Pride of Singapore TM sign him, well done them as he’s a top quality player, but ultimately wont be optimized playing for Moan-inho. They’ve got the money and we don’t own Sanchez - so not in our control.

You do realise that the £400k wages only came up once the rags had thrown their hat in the ring don't you? If we'd got this done quickly instead of trying to make a point to Arsenal about the fee he'd have signed for what we offered in summer.
Or maybe it’s what we were prepared to pay in the summer but not now with a transfer fee on top.

How do you know that ? He might have asked us to match it, for all you know.

If he had stuck it out, we get him for 20 mil & have money to spend elsewhere.

He can FUCK OFF.

I agree with you upto a point, but while its easy to say it shows united have fallen.

We also miss out for the second time in 8months on a player Pep seems to rate and wanted.

From a City standpoint there is no way we can put a good spin on it. The club played hardball and lost
We won't need to put any spin on it at all. If we were in for him, the offer has been rebuffed in favour of a more attractive financial package. I don't think anyone at the club will be bothered that much.

Oh dear, City's greatest fan speaks again.
Two disappointments coming today.

It's one thing to claim the rags have beaten us to a signing but another to gloat we will get beat and you can say told you so.

Your problem is you are never around for anything positive, ever and only want to post your doom and gloom on here and it fucks everyone off, rightly so as well in my opinion.

What sort of blue says we are in for a double disappointment today?

I'm not overly fussed about this as I don't think it's an area of the team where it is essential we bring someone in. I'd much rather we get backup for Fernandinho.

In terms of if he goes to United, it will strengthen them as they are absolutely missing someone like Sanchez. It doesn't bother me enough for us to bring someone in on such a high wage and risk the potential knock on effects of that. I'd rather we keep going for young players like Sane and Jesus that we can develop even further.

We have our limit and are sticking to it. I'm absolutely fine with that, it shows to me just how much we've matured as a club in the past few years.
