Here we go.
True, I only do it 5* in far flung reaches and it's been amazing every timeThe cookie monster said:Exactly..andyhinch said:Have good holiday or cheap one, hard to do both
I guess it depends on folks circumstances,i have only ever done the all inclusives on the far away places..cuba,mexico,dominican...and they were a bit better than o'k i can tell you...
This is spot on, we have just got back from Corfu where the local bars and tavernas were virtually empty yet the all inclusive hotel at the end of the resort had 1200 holiday makers who most likely never spent a penny in the resort. One bar owner threw a family out as that sat down and said that they didn't want to eat or drink they had just come in to watch the tv. I can understand why people, particularly those with children, choose all inclusive but the travel companies really should be forced to compensate to the local buisnesses and communities.Lavinda Past said:Seriously; If you're thinking about AI just bear in mind the loss of income for locals. The holiday company / hotel chain cash in big time and the local cafes etc lose out. All-inclusive is the holiday version of Tesco / Asda etc; they're killing local communities.
Not if you spend enoughBWTAC said:Done 5 star all inclusive for the last 3 years, decided to go self catering this year, due to the fact that you get to see fuck all of the place where you are at and we like to get out and about a bit, also no matter how good the place is, it will still be full of fucking chav like people who will do your head in.
I fully understand why people go AI, we have done it a couple of times (Kos and Fuerteventura), I certainly would not criticise anyone for doing so, my belief is that as I said the travel companies should do more to help the communities. I hope you have great time.dave55 said:well i'm sorry i can't afford a proper non all inclusive holiday. Don't get me wrong i wouldnt go to a bar just to watch tv and i don't plan on staying in the hotel bar 24 7, but its nice knowing i can eat and drink without worrying about running out of money while im there. Think i'll dig out my 2 man tent and put it in my back garden
