All Time Top 1100 Albums (Aerosmith - Big Ones) P265

Rob only had to drill down and it was nailed on he would have got it correct in one.

Always follow the scent Rob (LOL).
To be fair, I did get it. I said Pantera (along with 2 others) was a possibility and that was the only album of theirs on the list - I just didn''t bother typing the title in.

Reading some of the reviews, that's about as much joy as I'll get this week (apart from maybe writing a comedy review).

Blimey Fog!

this is a friendly thread, might be a few Pantera heads out there reading. keep it clean!

You should have seen what I was GOING to write.

Pantera fans are welcome to type a defens(c)e of this record/band. You know, maybe they can justify the Nazi salute episode.

All of the evidence that this is absolute shite and the band are dildos is on my side.

To be fair boss, if said fans are actively shooting at the band while they are playing, I'm sure they won't mind a few unkind words ;-)
It's an awful, tragic episode and others died, and it has nothing to do with their music.

I included it as an explanation of why I said "are/were ".

This also goes back to some of my earlier comments about my distaste for bands/music appealing to/exploiting men/boys insecure in their own masculinity.

Fair enough I thought as much , you would have obviously settled on Pantera once you saw the titles.

I have actually listed to this album a few times so I should have nabbed it myself.

Getting too old and memory fading is my excuse.

I think what they produce on this album albeit predictable and repetitive is solid and I can see why its highly regarded amongst their fan base and in heavy metal circles.

Phil seems to be doing his best impression of early James Hetfield and Mike Patton on speed without the vocal range for much of the album and we only see the best of his vocals on my favourite two tracks.

They don't quite land the fuck you we stayed true to ourselves lyrics and we don't need your approval message and outlived all that came before us and after so to speak which is what I think they are attempting to give to the listener in many of the songs but I don't mind the effort they make.

Live in a Hole and Hollow the best of the tracks for me.

It doesn't get better for me the more I listened to it as many records do that suit your ear and get you to think outside your comfort zone and emotionally grab you either by the heart or the head that you continually want to listen to and get more from the more you listen to it like a good drug that you don't overdose on.

Prefer Power Metal and I am the Night but give it a 5/10.

Since you're all HUGE fans now, give Cemetery Gates a go and turn it up to 11. Pantera were about as heavy as I went during my teens. As an old fart it's usually Megadeath who get the nod from that time period, when I'm not listening to Classic FM.
