Allardyce was on the verge of becoming Man City manager, deal fell through at the last second...

Instead of Sven not sure, but I think he would have done very well for us. Im absolutely sure he would have done a lot better with money than Hughes who in hindsight did okay himself.

What people should never forget about Big Sam is how innovative he was back in the day in terms of sport science and how well he got both Bolton and West Ham playing when he had the players to play a bit more expansive stuff. Underrated in my opinion

People knock him but he would've done a miles better job than Mark Hughes given the resources. Sven was the right choice at the time really enjoyed his stint managing the blues!

There would of been brown envelopes being passed around then, full of fivers rather than £50 notes

I remember a few years ago at the Etihad fat Sam came with Bolton and gave us a lesson. They went 2-0 middle of the second half, he went 5 at the back and that was the end of that.

We ended up with Sven who was OK at the time. Didn't Fat Sam end up at Newcastle not long after that, and not really pull up any trees?
The Geordies favourite chant for Sam was:
”You don’t know what you’re doing.”
