Pity, Barca have said they have finsihed in transfer market, losing Mascerano would have crippled their midfield. Having said that only need a couple of injuries to him and Gerrard and Liverpool could be knackered big time especially with all the games in CL to play as well. .

Totally agree. Be good if someone could go in for Mascherano. Liverpool are too Torres/Gerrard dependant. Cynically if they are targeted for some rough treatment they will struggle big time.

Not sure how happy Mascherano will be. Seemed fairly keen to leave earlier in the summer, might start with a bit of a hangover that nothing has come off.

Either way, seems theres a few problems in the camp over there.

alonso was essential last year for them, gerrard and torres may grab the headlines, but it was him, mascherano and carragher that solidified everything. i really rate him

Only my personal opinion but i don't think Mascherano is in the same league as Alonso, talent wise.
