Quality player. But they've still got Mascerano.

Only my personal opinion but i don't think Mascherano is in the same league as Alonso, talent wise.

I think they're slightly different players tbh (Masch more of a tackler, Alonso more starting attacks from deep), but in terms of a DM who can create he's up there with the best. Wish we'd been in for him too. Barry and Alonso with Ireland just in front looks good on paper as a midfield three

Agreed, that midfield trio would be mouth watering. However, I'm happy about our midfield because they are up there with 'the big four' IMO.
