Alvaro Negredo - How do you remember him?

a decent all around striker who had a bit of everything; pace, power, good in the air, decent with both feet....could link play and play on the shoulder of the last man......not the best at any of it but very good at it all.

Wasn't there a goal v Chelsea at home where he controlled it and swivelled past Terry before bending it in from 20 yards ? Ascended like a shooting star but faded just as quickly.

Left foot like a rocket, put himself about a bit until injuries affected his form and maybe mentality. Certainly fond memories, and a lot of left foot spinners.

Possibly the last striker we had who could be considered a real aerial threat? (I don't count Bony) Also enabled / forced Aguero to arguably develop his game to become a creator as well as finisher.

Seem to remember he would like up most regularly alongside Sergio with yaya in behind, and Silva and Nasri wider. Pretty attacking set up.

His best performance in a blue shirt was in the 4-1 win in the derby, He was unplayable that day up top with Sergio. His goal against Tottenham too was fabulous made a mug out of dawson at the edge of the area and bent in around lloris.

Solid and lived up to his nickname as a beast, until that shoulder injury versus WHU and then he just faded. Seemed an all-round monster of a player, a chaser of the game and ball, and had that edge few players these days show. In the niche of Tevez, when at his best. Great win for the lad and team yesterday

Are you thinking of the one against Spurs? It was against Dawson. Unless I’m completely forgetting another goal that fits that description, which I probably am :)
