Am I being precious? (BBC)

I have no issue with the media reporting facts and commenting on them. It's their job. None of those comments fall outside those bounds imo.

fair enough but he could have mentioned the fact that our "200" fans out sung their however many thousand by 30 fold.

Why do this - it's like repeatedly banging your head on the wall and then
complaining that it hurts!
It's going to take years to shift this mindset - but shift it we will- eventually !

we will never win over the UK rag media , if you have a million people allegedly supporting the rags , any media outlet will favour this club. The million are potential customers , and they will be receive favourable coverage , to keep the million customers , they will write negative comments about any potential threat to this club , Chelsea, city, arsenal, liverpool all get unfair and unneccesary negative coverage. But this pleases the million fans and keeps them buying the tv subscriptions , newspapers etc etc , its simple economics for business , keep your customers happy. Look at the bigger picture ,the media have an agenda and it suits them to keep yooonited at the top , we will never be media darlings , and I certainly don't lose any sleep over this.

I went to the Reading game and being bored driving home listened to a phone in on Talk Sport. EVERY time our result was read out the presenter referred to it as a 'meaningless game' between Reading and Man City. I thought that we had just secured 2nd place and its an insult to all match going fans to call any match 'meaningless'. Based on this half the games played at the weekend might as well not go ahead! I would have phoned up but it only encourages them!

When he made reference to the "200" it was before the game had started, possibly not the most apposite time to mention the relative noise from each sets of supporters in a game of such limited importance.

Can't believe I'm defending some wank from the BBC, but here goes: If you go back to what he said, that comment was posted discernibly before the kick off. Perhaps because there were so many at the bar is why there were only "200" in the seats at that time?

Also, Sue at the bar? Seriously?

Think they have about 3-4 million 'fans' in this country. The last thing the media wants is for every club to say, have 200,000 fans each cos the viewing figures for matches would plummet.
