Next summer needs to be one of ambition and balls replacing many players that are either at WC or close to it. Who could be those players and let's face it they are going to be v expensive but we need to aim for 3-4 best in class wherever they are, every player has a price nomatter what the selling club initially say. I would say this may be a £500M spend window, maybe more

3 key areas/ players/ projected costs

Right Back: Livramento: £80M
Centre Midfield: Pedri: £250M (who gives a shit if this is the price, worth it)
Centre Midfield: Wharton: £80 (already really good will be superb)
LW/ Attacker: Musiala: £150M, (release clause maybe)

Pedri is the very hard one but every player has a price, getting him to move to Manc maybe tricky

Wow mate Pedri and Musiala ! We are never getting that or anywhere near that. Liklier to get players by the names of Ambition and Balls.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, I don't think anybody is paying Musiala's release clause so soon after a significant injury and Pedri won't be leaving Barcelona. I suspect the link has come after he said Merlin was his favourite player. He specified that's after Iniesta. He'll be one that stays there for as long as Barca will have him.

I do think we should go balls deep for Livramento and Wharton, though. Specifically Wharton. Both fantastic young players with loads of experience already but AW just looks mustard. Lefties always do.

Whether there's a RC for him? Not sure. But they'll be losing Guehi for free so a nice fee for AW might not go amiss to be able to reinvest in the squad.

Why do people think we can't get players like Pedri if we wanted to? Fuck me you'd think we were still playing in the 3rd division.
Because I just can't see Pedri moving from Barcelona in the same way Foden wouldn't leave us unless he had really bad form for a couple of years.

Players aren't the same as they used to be it's now all about image and likes as well as the dough. We as fans need to stop looking at players as if they are connected with fans and their clubs.

They most certainly are not.

I just think that setting this up and creating an expectation in your mind that this is even possible means you'll never be happy. The club has never operated like this even in the wildest days of transfer activity.
at the time the money we paid for Aguero, KDB and walker was seen to be crazy and looking at the football inflation data this translates to way over £100M per player. This is the new benchmark for top class players that are in demand. Yaya's 25M in 11/12 is way North of 80M now
