Asian man on reception had attitude problems. we had to share with a bunch of louts. one of them actually excreted all over the floor one morning. mould was everywhere, your toes hang out of the cubicles when your on the toilet. I even saw a man cleaning poo off of his jeans in the shower. there was tranny porn playing in the corridoor. Absalute hell hole. Did see Keith from boyzone there though.

my kind of place!

I think reviews will be worse from any travelers after 2 nights with us pissed/drugged up :)

Sorry, I was mixing up my square in my earlier posts. Rembrantspein is the biggest one, closest to the centre and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Leidseplein is the one closest to Vondelpark, further away from the centre. Personally I like Leidseplein. It's more compact and has a netwrok of atmospheric streets full of restaurants.

I went over there with England for the Euros and those two squares were full of the Dutch fans and the English were congregating in the Red Light District. I suspect it will be similar this time.

Last time i was there most places were locking up at midnight but i found a nice boozer just off Leidsplein that was open late.

What's the craic now with schmoking/boozing late?

The best fish restaurant in the dam is the seafood restaurnt in the leidersplain.

The best Chinese restaurant in the dam is the manchurian in the liedersplain

All the best bars and hotels and casinos are in the leidersplain.

If you like Blackpool and soho go to dam square and the grasshopper.

Also p.c hoofstrat is the equivalent of king st. 5 minutes walk from the leidersplain.

Not cheap, but mint.
