An apology to Mancini

Agreed, so I would like to say I was wrong abut Joe Hart, Lescott and Cook, which is why I'm in finance and not football!

Regarding Mancini, the ends have justified the means.......

I was never a Ericsson in or outer, I was never a Hughes in or outer and I have never been a Mancini in or outer either, the one thing I would ask all Blues to remember is not to make our financial windfall turn us into a carbon copy of a typical Rag supporter.

I implore that if any of you feel as if you are being infected with their arrogant, puss filled demeanour, just remember the bad days of Frontzeck, Conlon etc and think where we are today.

The difficult takes time, the impossible takes just that little bit longer. If Mancini has proved anything its that even the best coaches even with all the riches in the world at their disposal need time to achieve their goals. Hopefully this is an important lesson that we have now all learned and it will stand us all in good stead for the years to come.

Looking at Mancini as a player and a manager, there was never anything to suggest he was a defensive manager. What time has proved is that Mancini has rebuilt our squad from the bottom up, first making us defensively solid and hard to beat and now making us hard to contain as an attacking and creative force now he has the quality of players in place to achieve this!!

What I've loved the most about Mancini is even with our brilliant performances so far this season, he has brought us all back down to earth by pointing out that of the 3 goals that we have conceded so far in the Premiership this season, 2 of them were very poor and this is what he is going to turn his attention to. Having heard those statements, those who have doubted Mancini's quality as a coach should be left in no doubt that our great club is safe in his hands for now. As I've already stated; the ends have justified Mancini's means........

PS: I also believe we should also give Mancini the extra responsibility that he wants and we should start negotiating with him from now for a contract extension.

Great post.

I was thinking that the other day about his contract. The club need to get him secured on a longer deal now as I believe he's got less than two years to go on his current one.

Is anyone who has even a passing knowledge of Mancini the player and the wealth of attacking talent in our squad really surprised by the way we've played so far this season? It was clear to me that we would see a much more expansive style of play now RM's position is unassailable.

A highly intelligent and tactical man he has played an absolute fucking blinder as far as I'm concerned. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will win Manager of the Year this season.
He'll have 12 months left on his contract at the end of this season and I believe that if we extend his contract and give him the mandate to manage as he craves it will firmly put the comedy past of Manchester City firmly in the history books.

Players like Adebayor, Bellamy now know what it's like to get on the wrong side of Mancini, if he was given the contract extension that he deserves this would send a message to the last remaining idiots at this club to shape up or ship out!!! Tevez/Balotelli I'm talking about you two.........

Tevez & Balotelli will get their chances when the League Cup & Champions League kick in. In the meantime keeping them on the sidelines to concentrate their minds is absolutely the right thing to do. They both need to know that they are no longer the main men and if they want to be a part of the future they need to be a part of the group NOT apart from the group!!!

I was watching the Sergio Aguero interview earlier on SSN where he mentioned that Tevez was frustrated because he wasn't starting. Well tough!!! Tevez wanted to return late from pre-season, so he can wait until he's fully fit and needed as I no longer see him as our main man. THIS is what Mancini wanted all along; the dog wagging the tail and NOT the tail wagging the dog!! :-)

Mancini should have won it LAST season!

If his name was Hodgson or Moyes he'd have pissed it...

First full season as the manager, finished 3rd. (level on points with Chelsea) and won the FA Cup.

Moyes and Hodgson won the award by achieving FAR less than that.

Welcome aboard ;)

Something that's not been said in this thread is Mancini's man-management skills, something he has been castigated for on this board in his previous 18 months. Well now we seem to have a real 'siege-mentality', something I know Didsbury Dave and others have talked about in the past. Now Mancini has his squad and the players and personnel around the squad that he has chosen we seem to be a very, very happy unit. Long may it continue because that is something that takes more than money. We might have some players on big wages that wouldn't have even looked at us 2 years but make no mistake they are here for the club and are desperately trying to win trophies for Manchester City. The closeness of everyone is almost as important/impressive as the actual performances so far.

Also, we must remember that we are still allowed to lose/put in a bad performance from time to time, it doesn't change the fact that we are going to be very successful. The reaction on here after the Community shield was a joke and I hope will never be repeated.

Many Dippers on RAWK think that Mancini is shite. :)

Absolute classic wishful thinking from them. They're like that about all things City.
