Great letter. Can't stand this new craze wherby, some knob says your looking for attention by disagreeing with the 100's of anti everything threads. Some people to grow the fuck up.

Some people need to just accept that some things are beyond their control...

What is it you find disgraceful about the way it was done?

The fact that the replacement had already been made?

I'd say that was acting in the best interests of MCFC wouldn't you?

Have you read the papers today?

Nobody on these pages is qualified to say what is in the best interests of MCFC, all you have is an opinion of that.

The chairman and owners of the club make the "best interest" decisions, and apart from a few clappers nee foamers on here, very few people see the wisdom in this action.

The pressure on Mancini is massive from the off. I truly hope he delivers and we can get this debacle behind us as soon as possible.

Where is there any evidence to show that the way this ended was 100% down to City. When they started to look for a manager we were showing all the signs of a defense getting progressivly worse despite spending almost £60m on defenders. With that in mind would you be happy for an existing manager to chuck more money away or would you think hang on two choices here. One refuse manager any more money and do nothing until May and miss the chance of top 4 place. Or 2, bring in a new manager in time to play a couple of games assess the existing players and time to bring new ones in in January. Its a no brainer for me you go for a manager you will give more cash to. Once you start asking candidates if they are available you run the risk of it leaking out. So what do you do then when it does start to come out. Deny the rumours for the next two days to be polite or decide to tell everyone at the earliest time possible. It has to be as soon as possible, to lie for two days would cause even more problems. So do you then tell the manager just before they kick off and risk them not having their heads on the game or do you wait for the final whistle?

the owner decided to sack hughes and our chairman delivered the news. the sheik probably saw how spurs took us apart and decided enough was enough. and after giving mark a second chance after last season and another pile of cash who could blame him ? if it was my money i'd do the same.

its not play money that has been spent ! and the ambition is to be the greatest most successful club in the world. you can't afford to fuck about when you've invested so much of your own cash.

people forget just how much the arabs have done for this club, they could have easily bought someone else.

I think firing him after the game is the best thing, leaves the longest time for the squad to get used to it and start training under the manager. If we had fired him after spurs game Mancini would only have a couple of days to prepare for the Sunderland game, a game we all expected to win. This way he gets a whole week. I personally am much happier that the owners take this kind of long term view rather than reacting to just one result. So what if they made the decision to get rid of him weeks ago, that is no bodies business but their own. The real problem in this is the leak to the press. I do not for a second imagine that the club intended to announce that Hughes was goining at half time, but better that they reacted when evertone already knew.

I also get a bit tired of people talking about Hughes getting fired - it is not the same as you or me being sacked, where you have to have three disciplineies etc, he is having his contract paid off, he will still essentialy ear most of what he would of as manager.

I am pleased by his statement earlier today, even though he may have known that he was leaving before the game he does not appear to want to drag this out. I do not believe the few posters that have said he wants to sue us. I think he acted with a bit of class there in not trying to drag it out.

Anyway on to a new era (hopefully a long and successful one) under Mancini, an excellent manager who is actually a year younger than Hughes and performed admirably in Italy. And if anyone would like to respond with the usual "He only won because Juve were relegated/Milan -8points" or "no experince of the English game" I will not dignify them with a response as I think enough 'cyber-inches' have been taken up with fans responding to those frankly ridiculous statements.

And finally, I disagree with the OP but I am not angry with them for sending a letter, that is their choice. What I do hope is that the club has the decency to reply to it and that this reply will put your fears to rest.

why is that so hard to understand

I have just sent one as well: -

Dear Mr Cook, well done it needed doing. The only mistake you made is you should have done it last June.

All the best, Merry Christmas and keep the Faith.

I think more than "very few" see the wisdom in sacking Hughes and please tell me why this is a "debacle"? Sacking a manager without having a replacement lined up might constitute a "debacle" but not this.

Unproven manager with no history of winning things (out).
Manager of a similar age with a very healthy CV and record of winning things (in).

Not really a debacle is it?
