and It's Michael again...

Sterling handball against Spurs?

Stones clear as day bringing down Sterling in the box?

Navas clear as day being fouled in the box against Everton in League Cup?

Sterling tripped in the box by Clark against Villa?

Zaba getting only a free against Leicester when the foot that was taken from under him was clearly on the line?

I could go on.

Ageuro brought down against Leicester in the box. Pivotal decision

Yhp, another final day showdown against United and Mike Dean is in charge at the Liberty for our game. Don't know as a Dipper whether he'd prefer them or us but he managed not to give them easy calls on Tuesday and tried to help us out a little on the final day 4 years ago.

The EVER reliable Jon Moss gets the Rags game, whilst Marky Mark Clattenburg gets the Arse game. Saying that Dean has refereed 3 of our games this season and we've won all 3, whilst his last 3 United games have seen the Rags lose all 3. Hopefully history can repeat itself Sunday.
Best ref in England by a landslide.

Yep, I didn't include that because it wasn't obvious, had to see a replay to be sure. The others I mentioned were obvious in my opinion.

Doesn't take away anything from our comeback, he could have screwed us or not done his job properly, after everything that had been thrown at us and handed to the Rags that season it was welcome that in the big game he played it fair and I think it did help a little.

I agree with you - he refereed that game very well considering the occasion. Even though the Zabba goal was clearly in, that's something the officials could have missed if they wanted to. He handled the Joey Barton tantrum well too and rightly sent him off. Let the game flow and didn't blow the whistle early!

If we've won three games under him and the rags have lost their three under him he's got my vote! He'll want us to finish top 4 over the rags if he's a Liverpool fan. I'm not going to say what I'm thinking in case it then gathers momentum and he's switched!

Let's be honest, he could quite easily have sent Tevez off in that incident too but to be fair that was on the linesman more than him.

Do you think those are just mistakes, or do you think they are purposely not giving us decisions?

Fair enough as it's your opinion, but at the time it was stonewall and the replay just confirmed it for me. Anyway, more than enough examples of ref ineptitude

I'd like to think mistakes but I do wonder sometimes whether the negative coverage we receive slips into the subconscious of refs.

Yes i know what you mean, feels we get more than our fair share of shitty decisions, but i think its probably just the standard of refereeing thats poor rather than refs being against us.

I genuinely think the referring in this country is first class. I don't go to the match to watch the referee and think over a season decisions even themselves out.

I can only presume this is the biggest WUM in bluemoon history

I never understand posts about referees or people who care who we get to be honest. Never really notice them - all of them are of a good standard. They get most decisions correct and have a thankless task.
This. I do notice them, but I've never noticed blatant bias. Just poor refereeing

With Dean we're going to get one of the better refs in the PL.

Worsleyweb comments made this in to a topic about the standard of refereeing in the PL. By refereeing I don't mean just the ref, but I include the linesmen.
Even if I take away the City-games for a more objective view on this I still think the standard is poor to say the least. All well they are human, they need to decide within a second and without the help of a replay through different angles. They are however trained professionals (well paid ones), able to cope with pressure and circumstances, and in direct contact to one another. As human as they are, they can make mistakes and we can moan about that. What really gets on my and people's nerves is the inconsistency, they often seem to be scared of making a desicion, and the lack of transpiracy (why do they never need to explain their view to certain incidents?).
In the PL I simply expect better standards. However this can easily be said about the standard of football as well.

How do you explain the Sterling handball that Clattenburg gave against I think Tottenham at home?

There is clear TV evidence he couldn't see it.

Don't underestimate the power of the Clat, he saw Shrek elbowing McCarthy a few years back despite the fact that he was 40 yards away with his back to the incident and was also able to judge that it was just a coming together.
