And so it begins...

I just love these Tolmie threads it gets everyone thinking out of the box.

IMO

Barkley and replacement for Negredo if sold as Guidetti not good enough.

But it may be more of an AM/CF rather than a straight forward CF.

Sanchez would have been 1, maybe Di Maria but would probably be out of our range.

Remy could be a good shout.

Walcott ? as that would bring our overseas number down to a FFP penalty pleasing 16.

Atletico could still go for Negredo IMO. They have lost both Villa and Costa this year, so just buying Mandzukic won't be enough. They have also won the Spanish League, got to the final of the Champions League and IIRC they get a larger slice of Spanish TV revenue this season so are quite flush with cash.

Tolmie, has the club softened it's stance on Negredo? We seemed to scare Atletico Madrid off pretty quickly, so they snapped up Mandzukic instead. There can't be many clubs in Spain that would want him AND can afford him. We could have done with keeping Atletico at the table, surely? Unless they wanted BOTH Negredo and Mandzukic? But that seems unlikely.

Believe it or not, Tricky, I don't have a scooby on your question or a handle on any of the politics involved with regards players and personal politics.

I'm just a cook ;)

Like Steven Seagal?

Why is Boyata never on anyone's sell list?

Is he irreplaceable? We must have as big a chance of selling him as we do with Sinclair and he's on every list going.

Also Tolm, I know there are many bluemooners who still have the emotional scars from the Isco saga last summer.

Question is this, could you envisage City looking at him again this Summer or can he be ruled out?

I was thinking the same thing. Considering Real just bought Kroos and might spend another quadrillion on James, maybe they'd be willing to sell?

Presuming Barkley would cost £40m do you think Walcott would be sold for £20m.

Understand the suggestion as HG but don't think this would happen.

Does that mean much, though? What if his new contract is at a very team friendly salary to make it easier to push him off? Just guessing, I could be wrong in my understanding of how this works :)

I know so we would get a transfer fee rather than him walking for nothing. Same question why don't we sell him?

Even Tolmie never lists him. It's weird.
