Tolmie, has the club softened it's stance on Negredo? We seemed to scare Atletico Madrid off pretty quickly, so they snapped up Mandzukic instead. There can't be many clubs in Spain that would want him AND can afford him. We could have done with keeping Atletico at the table, surely? Unless they wanted BOTH Negredo and Mandzukic? But that seems unlikely.

Believe it or not, Tricky, I don't have a scooby on your question or a handle on any of the politics involved with regards players and personal politics.

Even tho we will be working without any punishments next summer we will still have ffp for seasons 2016 and 2017 to work within. I presume even tho we're allowed to spend 50m this summer what we do this summer will be taken into account for the CL in '16 and '17. Considering that most of the players above will only depreciate in value (age, lack of first team football, contract status) it will be better to sell now even if some of the money wouldn't be spent until next year.

our revenues will go up a lot, and if we make the CL next season then the BT money comes in, we don't need to "save" any transfer funds.

Still sensible given that any money we do raise won't be enough for Barkley and Pogba

FFP gets more stringent from now on. It's true we will be making more money in the coming years but so will other clubs. Better to sell most of the above players now even if it means not utilizing all the 50m limit.
Even in the very best case scenario of being able to raise 60m it wouldn't be enough for Barkley and Pogba so unless a steal appears (Valbuena?) I would pocket the rest with future ffp in mind.

My guess is that if we manage to shift Negredo, Garcia, Richards, Sinclair, Guidetti and Rodwell then we'll go balls out for Barkley. Guessing that Barkley will be expensive at £40m. That should mean that between our departing players leaving and Barkley arriving that would still leave us £5-10m in the bank.

Then if Yaya does decide to feck off then we should be free to get someone in with the change and the sale price. It would also free a place for a foreign player in the squad so we would have a free hand in replacing him.

Barkley and replacement for Negredo if sold as Guidetti not good enough.

But it may be more of an AM/CF rather than a straight forward CF.

Sanchez would have been 1, maybe Di Maria but would probably be out of our range.

Remy could be a good shout.

Assuming Mangala signs. if Negredo and Garcia leave we'd have 1 place remaining for the PL squad (0 for the CL - tho I would expect Demichelis to drop out of the CL squad)
