And so it begins...

I like Sinclair think he has had a very hard 2 seasons with us, the first year he clearly wasn't Mancini's choice and barely featured because of that and the second he was farmed out on loan and the manager that brought him in was sacked and the new manger wasn't a fan. He offers a similar threat as Navas if Manny could sort out his crossing, finishing and decision making there is no reason he couldn't become a useful player for us but as it stands he isn't at our level. Although I do believe we need a pacey direct threat to play on the left to break down certain teams and Sinclair has it in his locker plus the fact he is English, if he ever managed to recapture his Swansea form he could be a solid player to have on the bench.

So apart from needing to sort out everything that makes a good wide attacking player he's decent in your opinion ;)

I have not seen any 'bell ends' just people quite rightly in my opinion expressing doubts over the validity of the information posted and the manner in which it is posted. Why this is considered an attack upon the poster is beyond me. For a moderator to use such an intolerant phrase and adopt such an intolerant attitude, one has to wonder why TH is being so protected from any form of doubt.

Are we not allowed to point out that in our opinion much of the information posted has been common knowledge, freely available and the rest 'the spectacular stuff' (Barkley, Isco, etc) appears to have little or no substance. Are we not right to caution 'read with scepticism' and time and time again the information has proved unreliable, without a witch hunt being started. Are only believers allow to post and comment, seemingly supported by site Moderator(s)? Some of THs claims of 'success' are at best dubious.

You only have to read this thread for a short while to find some cringe worthy fawning posts to see how 'bought in' some people are and how disappointed they are when the biggy predicted does not happen.

Perhaps TH should only post more solid info in future, deals that are near done and not fledgling speculative deals barely at inception. I have no clue who TH is but it does seem to me he gets far more wrong than right. Perhaps it is all about keeping figures up on Bluemoon for advertising revenues, who knows.

No doubt I will get a bollocking for this but if you cannot stand free speech, deal with it.

Excellent post

I agree , no one has personally attacked Tolmie , just his info, yet the abuse towards posters that do is overwhelming

I detest the " mate mate mate mate". Any news on this that and the fucking other needy plebs with a handful of posts between them.
I agree about the protection also , it's as if ITK STATUS is a must have on a forum , therefore they are allowed privileges beyond the rest.

Read this thread back , there is very little or no abuse towards Tolmie ...just his clingons abusing the rest .

For the record I like Tolmie , he's a blue and know his credentials are real, I just don't like the abuse his doubters are subjected to

To be fair, I was highly critical in this thread of his attitude in posts on other threads unrelated to transfer activity so I suppose that could constitute a personal attack. While I feel I was justified in raising the issue, it was probably the wrong thread to do it on, and I'm not interested in going there again because he did offer up an apology so there's no need to carry it on.

Regarding another point you made, I couldn't agree more - the army of transfer muppets mithering him for info makes for hilarious reading, and yet ironically we have citoeast being called out for making "cringeworthy" posts.

If you'd asked me in May who we were signing, I would have said Sagna, Fernando, Mangala, Zuculini and a back-up 'keeper! Am I ITK? Am I fuck! You could have discerned these signings just through using a bit of common sense and reading a few newspaper reports! Isco and Barkley were never going to happen this summer, and I'm surprised that grown men are taken in by this nonsense!

I go away on hols tomorrow, so my last post for a couple weeks, anyhow.

Plenty seem to have nothing better to do than discuss my mental make-up, vices and negative impact on the wider internet, in general, judging by the number of pages these last few days?

I do feel it is best, however, that I don't instigate one of these threads, in future, just post as and where I feel it might be relevant or of interest?

It would reduce the amount of in-fighting, and not be a one-stop shop for putting myself out there, and all that may entail, good and bad.

Faceless internet or not, it is sometimes taken to heart, but that's just the guy I am. Can't change that and perhaps it is because I do have faith in what I am posting that it becomes a little personal for me.

Lampard's signing should perhaps be a decent illustration of just how quickly things can move in this game, even if Soriano had stated there would be no more after Mangala?

cheers for now.

It's his free speech which is being questioned though, his snippets are not guarantees they are just snippets of info and should be treated as such, never does he say xyz has signed at 4.00 pm Saturday, the grief he gets for posting snippets etc is totally unjustified and on the whole is appreciated by many, so the grief you may receive is based on the fact that most like it and therefore he should be left alone to continue, if you don't like them then don't read them, it's that simple really.

Lets be clear here, the transfer forum is for rumours I assume - if so why do people get some uptight if the rumour doesn't come true.

TH knows his onions - he gets some very good info but football is a funny one - there are always games and agendas at play especially with transfers.

I would rather people post something rather than nothing at all. I'm not the sort of person who sits around creaming themself on a rumour. I only get my tissues out after a deal has been confirmed by the club.

Hopefully TH will have a great Holiday and be back to share some more rumours...

My opinion for what it's worth is the needy and doubting plebs (as you put it) are as bad as one another, the forum is set up for "All transfer rumours, gossip, and speculation", people should take that in and remember it when psoting.

I'm sure Tolmie posts with this in mind so everyone else should bear it in mind when reading his posts, it's no different than reading a column in the newspaper, nothing more, nothing less.

The way people get so worked up about it on both sides is laughable and cringeworthy at times

If we went back 12 months all the posts would be the same. If we could go forward 12 months all the posts would be the same (including this one ;-))

Everyone will never be happy.

Carry on.....

My tea was very hot and hurt my hand. Fuck sake TH you could of warned me are you ITK or not?

Tbh I feel bad for TH. The very nature of how a football club operates means that correct information can become woefully wrong within a matter of days, I'm sure what TH has said was true to the best of his knowledge but this happens all the time in football when there are at anyone time multiple clubs looking at multiple deals with other deals linked to how those deals go down, and then you can always get some other club coming in with/retracting a huge offer for someone else. I find what he shares interesting and trust that it is correct, but may end up not coming to fruition, at the very least it's interesting just to see the types of players the club are looking at.

Never had a problem with TH. He keeps this forum ticking over the summer time. I've never had a bad word really, I enjoy reading it. I have my opinion, be the stories truth or fiction, but I'll keep that to myself.

Not sure now what we can expect. Obviously Mangala is more or less done after whatever technical itch there has been. We do need to off-load though. The names of those have been thrown out already and I agree with the majority. We have too many numbers now, I think we have bought very well this summer but the transfer windown we had trying to defend our title is haunting us right now. That was a shocking window. Garcia is under a proper threat here, I can only think he goes because there is every chance he doesn't make any squad submissions. Shame for the lad, hopefully we can get him pastures new and off our books.

Moving forwards, I think we need to start looking at getting some of these academy kids through. A lot are either not making it or being loaned out. If you're good enough your old enough. We have just spent £30 million on a centre half that was certainly needed, you'd have to ask though why the Rekiks of this world are being farmed out. We will fix this with the new academy hopefully, that way we settle ourselves with FFP.

We have a very strong squad now, a young one as well that will carry us into the next 5 years. Yaya will need replacing first. I hope by the time this current crop has ran it's last race we have got our ship together and getting things done in house. With maybe just one marquee signing each summer.

Not exactly young...one of the oldest in fact:

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vereins-statistik/wertvollstemannschaften/marktwertetop
Average age will go up again when Richards, Rodwell, Sinclair, Garcia, Rekik, Zuculini and Guidetti move out
Always looking for the positive angle, GH.
