And so it begins...

Can I just highlight McDonnell in the Mirror today who, outside of everyone else, has Nasri signing a wage improvement on £180,000 a week.

Absolutely shocking lies and he fucking knows it too, the red bastard,

Nasri is now actually closer to earning half of that as a basic wage.

Don't let that get in the way, though.

We have good news!

I haven't been told who it is yet but it was late last night. The time has come!

Hope you had a good birthday, no murders to report in your absence

Thanks! Will be celebrating properly this weekend and next.

Scarily, this thread has actually morphed into something quite decent, plenty of proper debate and opinions.

I do suspect the news last night will be about the centre back, as we issued a deadline for the end of this week.

It depends on your view of Mangala being our first choice, whether him saying yes or no can be seen as good news.
You know what it's like any news us good/bad news on here. Sink a few large ones.

This is our model going forward, lower wages as & when negotiating new contracts because they effect FFP, but higher bonus' as they are exempt from FFP accounting etc.
It's sensible & a great way to keep Uefa off our backs, "£80k pw basic but a £100k playing bonus" they're not daft at the club these days ;-)

Signing Mangala is very risky imo. He obviously would rather go to Chelsea. Porto fans themselves have commented that you never know what you are gong to get from him during games. He was 4th choice CB In a less than stellar French defence. His price tag seems extortionate when all this is considered. City obviously have a lot of faith in his ability though, so I will be ecstatic if he proves them right. I just think Benatia is the better fit.

McDonnell is one of many bitter reds (or people under the red spell) in the media.

But none are worse than Jamie Jackson IMO. He is supposed to be "The Guardian's Manchester football correspondent" but all he does is fawn over United. Anything City is a mundane article or snide dig on Twitter.
