I think we've been rather spoilt this decade, with Kompany, Silva, Toure, Aguero, and Fernandinho (special mention to Zab but he's not quite that level). 5 legends in one decade.

I think the truly exciting thing is that it's feasible we have future legends already at the club. Maybe not as significant due to where we are, but nonetheless exciting. De Bruyne, Sterling, Laporte, Walker, Ederson are and easy five. On top of that, there's so much potential with Bernardo, Jesus, Rodri, Foden and probably others I've forgotten to mention.

In 2007 under Pearce to have thought we'd be here now, no way.

We will loose not only a brilliant and fantastic player, but also the greatest role model I can think of, a prime example of how a professional footballer should act and behave, a decent, modest, loyal and always dedicated man, and the fact that he seems to be an awesome example of a human being with both the heart and the mind of a very good person.

He should be adored and studied by young footballers feeling like gods just cause they get a huge pay check, by players who needs to understand that football is about the team and not an individual.

He's to me a hero... and just typing this makes me really really sad.

He is a legend, and will always be, and he will always be loved.

The best defender, the best goalscorer and the best player most of us have and maybe will see at our club. The one thing that links these people is humility. "Greatest" and "Legend" are words bandied around in all parts of the media in some cases undeserved. Not in Daves case. Final league game of course but not the end. Never loved a player more
