Andrea Cambiaso

Cambiaso : 65 million is a lot or a few?

Many or few? Many and very few at the same time, it depends on what point of view you look at it and everything you want to take into account. So many if you think that the boy two seasons ago was paid by Juve a dozen millions paid into the coffers of Genoa. Very few if you think that the full-back is at the centre of the football project that Thiago Motta is carrying out and replacing him would not be a health walk since Juve, as you can read on the page on the side, is already engaged and not in short time, in identifying a strong and full-liking defender to replace the double Bremer-Cabal pair, both out for the whole season after the rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the knee. Very few if you think that an auction will surely open on the boy this summer since Manchester City is not the only top club that has raised the antennas on the Ligurian: Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also like it a lot. Hence City's desire to anticipate everything not only to meet Guardiola's tactical needs, but also to avoid having to spend more. In the game of parts it is evident that a first offer is never said yes. Especially if you know that that money, in five months, could become more for the reasons mentioned above. So the final drop point for an agreement will be around 70 million plus almost a dozen bonuses. The gong of February 3 is just over two weeks away but the deal, if it closes and the premises seem very good, should register the closing already by the end of the next one.

I've never watched this guy (or at least remember if I have) but quick Google sounds like he's been used primarily as a inverted full back, although again I can't say for sure

Is he an overlapping full back?
From what I gathered, some likened him to Bernardo Silva. He's defo an inverted FB/midfielder, think some also said like Cancelo. Maybe a cross between the two?

He was great with Di Canio at wednesday. He took Villa to an FA cup final on his own. He was more than okay had he played for bigger club they would talked about him like Zola.

I stand corrected. I had some other bugger in mind for some reason. Didn't he also play for Bradford ? One of a few deals that nigh on bankrupt them.

Nah Walker might not have the same football intelligence as Alves but Walker isn't some type of Aaron Lennon "95% pace, 5% brains" footballer, Walker is well above average and would be great in the Serie A
His passing is bang average, his crossing is very poor, he’s technically one of the worst players in our squad. If he’s not just a great athlete and physical player why has he fallen off a cliff so badly to the point Rico looks on a par defensively? His positional play at times is appalling. He’d still beat prime Neville and Zabba in a race so should still be at least competent in a position he’s played all his life.

Tonali is currently the best midfielder in the league (along with two scousers I can't be bothered to name, one of which was a huge missed opportunity for Gundogan replacement)

Know very little about Cambiaso but from what fans say about him which is always a good indicator he is technically efficient with both feet, can play multiple positions and has the engine and physical levels to help us. His strenght seem to his ability to always know where to position himself to create a nummerical overload in any situation.
This is basically pornography of a skill-set coming into a Pep team.
My initial post could end up like 'What have the Romans ever done for us'. Other than the 376 players mentioned, which Italians have prospered in the Premier league.? :)

Haha, the "italians out of italy" stereotype has some ground in reality, but mostly because their league used to be so good that the proper talents just wanted to stay there, and also they had had a real drought in talent the last decade, as seen in their national side (who still reached 2 finals to be fair) and the downfall of their league.

But in terms of Italian players actually coming to England the hit-rate is fine. The difference is the likes of Spain, Germany, France and Portugal sent over players like Silva, Ballack, Henry(via Italy) and fake Ronaldo. Italy kept Totti, Baggio, Del Piero and Pirlo for themselves and sold their rejects. Even some outcasts like Zola ended up being a legend in England and Mancini baffled everyone at Leicester with his brilliance despite being basically retired

Liverpool only have one Italian. Chiesa.

Not sure who you think is the Gundogan replacement.

I don't know about all of that but there seems to be some kind of hunger to label Walker as an average player who's time here has been terrible, I am not sure where this is coming from but it seems to be the new trend here

I wonder if while talking to Juve about doing a deal for Cambiaso that we also ask for Luiz on loan?
Suddenly got a feeling there will be a surprise move for Stonesy to Juventus this winter. Absolute legend, best ball-playing English defender going to Italy to a legendary club to wind his career down at a slightly lower tempo in a warmer climate better for his hamstrings.

Walker and Stones to Juve, Luiz and Cambiaso to City

I know that. But I wrote that Tonali (who happens to be italian) is currently the best midfielder in the league alongside two Liverpool players

Since you asked, the Liverpool pair I am on about hmis Gravenberch and Mac Allister who has been superb this year, and Mac Allister especially is good at a lot of the same things prime Gundo excelled at

Not from me he’s been an amazing fullback for us. Who perfectly suited us with his ridiculous pace to cover counters. Always thought when his pace started to wane he’d fall off a cliff, which made the 3 year contract seem like madness. No arguing over how good he’s been for us though.

Has he got any pace?
Yes he is very pacey.
P.S. there is zero chance Walker going to Juve. He is too old for Juve. Oldest Juve starter is Koop 26yo.
P.P.S the only journalist credible journalist about Juve are Romeo Agresti and Giovanni Albanese.
Di Marzio and Romano have no idea and no ties to inside info regarding Juve.

If Allegri was still a coach that would be possible. Three reasons why Stones wont join Juve
Age, Salary, and injury prone.
