I think the fact he can play wingback on BOTH sides is probably very attractive to the club and Pep.

He loves players who can play in multiple spots, as it keeps the squad size down.

Still think if we persist with this double wide fullback syste (I hope we do), that we eventually buy another fullback in the summer as well to have 4 for 2 spots (depth is good to have).

Can’t see 4 full backs as long as we have 5 or 6 centre backs,just not enough room in the squad.
We’ll definitely have Dias Khusonov, Reis,Gvardiol maybe one or two of Stones ,Akanji, Ake leave. I ‘m expecting a 3 centre back and one inverted full back next season ,so can’t see more than 2 full backs in the squad.

I very specifically said if we persist with this double wide fullback system.

Gvardiol is a LB, so I wouldn't count him as a CB.

The CBs we definitely will have next season for this system are:

Dias (primary CB)
Akanji (primary CB)
Khusanov
Reis

Then there is Stones and Ake as extra depth, and they are the most injury prone, I'm guessing atleast 1 of them will leave anyways.

5 CBs for 2 spots is not too much depth when you consider the injuries we always get.
