Really, mark he is no more than fucking average and the only time he scored figures anywhere near the level of 5 mil a year wages was an 18 month spell (1yr in the championship) was over 2 years ago. I suppose you will be telling me that Kevin Nolan could get into the Brazil 1970 side next. Face it this deal is Davenport, Dean Ashton, Benni McCarthy and our very own Michael Johnson all rolled into one.

Ashton was fucking class.

I know he was mate, to be fair all but Callum Davenport were classy players and they paid £3 million for him and got 13 appearances before the calamities in that case. I was just looking at all the things that could go wrong with Carroll, it wasn't a player ability comparison. Ashton forced to retire chronic injury, BMc eating/weight problems, CD domestic issues where he ended up stabbed in the leg and forced to retire, MJ drink problem among other issues. You can see all these events happening to Carroll in the wrong circumstances, the only issue I didn't really include was the possibility of legal problems or imprisonment.

I'd never heard that story about the Wurlitzer man (I really should get out more, but my parole conditions are an issue). Well, well, well; swordsman extraordinaire. It does conjure up a worrying mental image though, Andy Carroll in a catsuit yelling "ride me ride me".

Carroll is a decent player when he’s fit and on top form, post Newcastle he’s not achieved those giddy heights, any Chairman who sanctions buying him is either dead or wanting to be fucked off with a decent retirement settlement ... !

Class when fully fit.
Unfortunately he just never will be. Players were bringing in aswell he wouldn’t fit the system. Will be relived when he’s off the books. 100+k a week for a handful of games a season is a joke
