Andy Gray is guilty of one thing and that is getting caught. Anyone on here who aint said a sexist remark is a liar. .
Yeah but NONE of us hold down £1.7m jobs presenting and commentating on the nations number one sport, watched by millions each week. If I go to the office tomorrow and tell Jenny 'big tits Smith her tits look ace today, it matters not but thats because I would A) not be as thick as to say it to someone I know would take it the wrong way, and B) I wouldn't say it whilst hooked up to a mic with a camera aimed at my face. Andy Grey isn't guilty of being caught, he's guilty of being a prick on many levels.

Because this has all been played out in public the assistant ref has no chance of a career at the top now. The abuse will just be multiplied, not because there is sympathy for Gray but because she is more in the limelight.

If those who leaked all this stuff hadnt gone running to the nearest paper to make a fast buck, Sky would probably still have dealt with it in a similar way based on what now appears to be common practice by Gray.

She could / should have been in the news for making several good decisions in a big game and she could have started her career off on a high. As it is, it has all backfired imo. She has been pulled from tonights game, do you think she will get another high profile game soon?

Check andy out in this one. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cS8OkAiXCI&feature=player_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cS8OkAi ... r_embedded</a>

to be fair why can journalists get away with slagging us as a club(hence indirectly slagging the people who work for us off) with only an apology and not be banned. Why because this official is a bird is it worse than that or any player swearing at any ref, yet they don't get severely punished?

reeks of double standards so therefore I don't agree with his dismissal when he gets such a severe punishment compared to anyone else who is completely unprofessional in their football related job.

some can't just like some men! The point is you shouldn't generalise. there are some very good female drivers and there are some poor refs/linesmen...even Gray and Keys couldn't always agree whether somthing was offside or not and at times they would debate on this on the 'final word' prog after the weekend games

so would you sack me for that comment?

No, but depends on the circumstances...depends on whether it was the first time you said it, your tone and demeanour when saying it, who heard you and whether it was intended to incite trouble with female colleagues...the point being you would create an uncomfortable atmosphere which could impact on the working environment

You'll be surprised how quickly these things blow over. Give it a few weeks and she'll be doing lower-league stuff again with no fuss. She'll be back in the Premier League in no time. Will probably do her some good to get a bit more match time under her belt whilst being out of the limelight. She could also catch up on that mountain of ironing in the spare room ;-)

Do non of you think this has gone to far, infact way to far? The first comment when they thought the microphones were switched off wasnt great to hear i admit that, but what 2 blokes say to each other in private (thats what it was to their knowledge) is nothing to do with the general public. Im sure that in our groups of friends that we take the micheal out of each sex, for example i have had and overheard people joking in pubs etc about women drivers, men cant multitask etc etc. I understand why they dont want women in the game, Football is a male orientated sport (the football we all see on TV is anyway) and why should we make it multisex? Im not saying that this is what i think, but i do feel that with the introduction of female referees etc, it wil only be a matter of time when a female footballer wants to play the game against men, and that will sadly be the end of football forever, it will come to this. As for the second video where Andy Gray is pitchside with another commentator (also now suspended) are commentating on the assistants looks, how is this wrong? When im about and if i see someone who is a good looking woman, i will comment to my mates about her, and if they were to comment on someone who i didnt like and i said that i dont like her, whats wrong with this? We all do this, im sure that when groups of woman are out having a meal etc, if a good looking Italian (other nationalities are also good looking, got to be careful, cant discriminate against others) waiter serves them im sure they would comment on him in their group of women, again there is nothing wrong with this it is just an opinion and a bit of sexist banter that happens in everyday life!!!

So where do we go from here on this subject. Had sky have made them apologise to the female assistant then all this would have now blown over, they would still be in jobs, the assitant would still be at the game tonight doing here job, end of story. But because some people are so keen to get one over on someone else, this whole fiasco rumbles on. Just out of interest, what would happen if i wanted to work in La Senza as a bra fitter? I think we know the answer!

He's ultimately been sacked for the suggestion he put to Charlotte Jackson
