I much prefer his understated style to the forced excitement and bad acting of many pundits who have had training in how a voice coach thinks they need to talk to convey drama

If he was anymore understated he'd be in a coma.

Played game at top level a few years ago. The game and tactics very different now which is why most pundits are out of touch.

How many times do you still here one of them say (Hoddle) Just kick out, all this passing about at the back, put it in row z and clear the danger.

I've heard that before too, I lived in Sale at that time - AH was from Brooklands IIRC.
