Angel di Maria at £27million in the summer?

Apparently he came on as substitute for Argentina in their 6-1 thrashing by the mighty Bolivia and what did he do? He got sent off after only seven minutes. Sounds like another Zabaleta.
On a more positive note, he seems to have been involved in virtually every attack when Benfica thrashed Everton 5-0 recently, despite not scoring himself. Possibly the creative playmaker we urgently need?

Saw this kid play in a youth game for Argentina 2 or 3 years back and was very impressed. I'd tuned in to watch Aguero and Banega to see what all the fuss was about but Di Maria was the player who stood out. He seemed to have a lot of time on the ball and was quite elegant with very good feet. He had a good game in one of Argentina's last world cup qualifiers too. Think he'd be a great signing for us.

Any word on if we would try for Torres should that situation present itself? (crossing my fingers!:-)

I think Di Maria is gonna be one of the greats, only problem is will he do well in the physical premiership? Does not look like the most muscular guy out there...

If We sign this lad (and don't get me wrong he looks class) then surely that spells the end of Martin Petrov at City :-(

Di Maria, Bellamy and Petrov all competing for the same place. Great for us. Bad for Martin. I think Robinho will play more centraly now he's back from injury. The only way i see Martin being content is if Bellamy is played more as an out and out striker so it's just the 2 fighting it out. Even then he'd be miffed coz he'd be the backup. Plus that would be a waste of Bellamy at his best. Out on the flank getting chalk on his boots imo.

Always happy to see great young talent like this kid come to City ofcourse. But not if it is the straw that breaks the Bulgarians ego. Is the left side of midfield REALLY the place we need to improve. I don't think so. Surely we should be putting everything into getting a world class right back before anything else.

right back 1st, well said our weakest link at moment.

I have to say he does look quite impressive in that Youtube video but then it is just a Youtube video. However, imagine him and Robbie running at you in the same game.
