Angelino

I’ve never seen Mendy look fit in a city shirt. One of our worst signings. Not saying it’s his fault but injuries have done for him.

Of course injuries have been a major factor however he did have talent when we had signed him and did look promising before his injury.

We aren't making the same mistake twice in promsing starts and barely playing him despite a succesful loan spell. Pep wasn't completely convinced (the lack of starts should be telling where he was in the pecking order despite the weaknesses) and Angelino was proactive and decided to get more game time rather than stick around.
You’re still not solving the problem and the pecking order changes. Angelino would now be well ahead of Zinchenko, who should be moved on, and likely on a par with Mendy, especially if Guardiola wants greater flexibility. What is your alternative solution other than to repeat it’s not Angelino?

I mean if the club/Pep is not convinced then would have they have told him already right? I mean why would the club waste a good amount of assured money (since Leipzig favours him) in bringing him in. It cannot be solely his wish alone to return and fight.

It remains still the same if he did return. If Pep really rated him he would be in the side right now and not for us having to rely on an out of position RB slotting in (although thats not promising for Mendy either).

Cancelo was picking splinters for the majority of the season now he’s flavour of the month despite being a wet fart of a defender

I think the biggest sign he might be coming back is that he's not been linked with anyone else.

It's mid-august and he's a young (homegrown) attacking LB looking good in a CL semi-final and available for £25m (based on the Leipzig clause).

If he were for sale, I'd expect Leicester and Chelsea to both be linked with him. He's better than both Chillwell and Tagliafico, the 2 those two are buying, and significantly cheaper.

Even if he didn't end up at a club like that, there would be links, City would be putting his name out there.
Sorry but I would love to visit the planet where Angelino is better than Tagliafico

Currently yes Mendy isn't in great shape but before injury Mendy had real talent

Not sure what the plan is there but relying on a combo of Mendy, Angelino, and Zinchenko at LB would be a mistake.

I know Ake and Cancelo can play there but still. We could really use a proper, reliable LB.
