Angelino

Didn't you see enough of it against Lyon? It is an awful system.

It's great if you have suitable players but it depends on having skillful fullbacks with good touch, dribbling and crossing. Unfortunately we don't have that. Walker is an excellent fullback but not that sort, Cancelo has flattered to deceive, Mendy is always a gamble.

Recruitment is starting to become a bit of a question mark for me.

As I understand it Angelino will return to City next season unless Leipzig pay City £25m.

I think Leipzig are in the CL next season as they finished 3rd. I think £25m is quite a lot for a German club to pay for a left back but he has played very well for them. I doubt City will be willing to renegotiate the fee so I think it's quite likely that he will be City's left back next season but the ball is the court of Leipzig at the moment.

I think he has enhanced his reputation a lot in his time at Leipzig, and I hope he is City's left back next season.

Would probably make him close to their most expensive ever signing, so unless they negotiate a lower price, which would not be in our interests, I cannot see him returning there. Could they envisage him turning into a €50-60m fullback that they could then sell for profit? Unlikely. Again, it makes more sense to think that he’ll come back.

I think he is great as a wingback but not as a full back.

But he is certainly more suited to LB than Zinchenko while Mendy is a fucking conundrum.

We wont need all 3 of them, I expect one of them to be sold for good. Tbh I would not mind selling two of them, and get 1 LB who is quick, good on the ball and offers some defensive skills as well even if its a veteran player from somewhere/ cheaper option. Does not have to be world class just decent. Someone like Danilo just in LB.

Also Pep might entertain keeping Cancelo on left maybe.

I’m probably his biggest fan on here but here’s the pickle.

he could have won last night and marked Mbappe out of the game, then bossed Bayern. He’d return to us to be treated like a kid by Pep.
fella deserves massive respect and our club should be embarrassed for how we’re dealing with him, he could easily be in the mix for us if afforded some belief.

With the news the premier league are discussing whether to increase the amount of hg players needed in squads it would be very wise to keep him imo.

i Agree that he is best used as a wing back, I would love to see a back 5 of the following used next season.

cancelo Koulibaly ake Laporte angelino

im a huge fan of walker but think cancelo would be a better fit in this role.

It would also allow us to play two strikers at times or 1 striker/4 central midfielders to dictate possession and control the game more. It seems the logical thing to evolve into considering the players we have available. Obviously we have bought Torres and we still have Mahrez who are incredibly options to change things up as well. Horses for courses.

Pep's reluctance to play him is the major issue not the merits of bringing him back. If he was that comfortable in the system he would get game time its that simple. I don't agree with the decision bringing him back. It would be a waste of time and he is better off elsewhere. If it make me a "moron" (or even Pep) then so be it. I am not of a fan shoe horning EDS/younger players for the sake of it

Agreed. We need greater flexibility in the absence of an out-and-out left winger.
