Churches in Darlaston.
I agree with previous posters, that their records should be first port of call.
Any idea what her sister was called ie, married name?

The Canon Guy Rogers who was appointed to St Martin's in the Bull Ring? I don't know my way round Birmingham. Canon Rogers seems to have been something of a celebrity as far as vicars go.

I'd found three Anglican churches listed as Darlaston, St Lawrences, St Georges and All Saints (bombed in the war and rebuilt).

Anna Connell was born in 1855 & when she started St. Marks Church football team in 1880 which would become Manchester City fc she was 25,so when she died in 1924 she would have been 69.
Canon Guy Rogers Anna's elder sister Georgina's husband was installed as the rector in 1924 which oddly is the year she died.
Perhaps it may be the rector upto 1924 we are looking for ?? that could give us info of if he was buried in the same place as Georgina & Anna.

Her sisters name was Georgina, i believe.
And for some reason, I think her husbands name was john, but not 100%...could be wrong!

Was she married?

I meant her sister Georgina's husband....i dont think that Anna got married.
*8-)
I've just phoned up St Martins church & the Rev's missus has said he'll contact me when he gets in.
I've also given her Bluemoons url so if a man of the cloth comes on this thread show a bit of respest,no RAG jokes please.

We've tracked down the Rev Arthur Connell's grave and it is in Manchester. It's all overgrown and would make a great community project, but it's now on private land (no longer a church). It's not in Gorton, but it is within the city of Manchester (not too far from Maine Road actually!).

Anna Connell wasn't married - the church and community were her life. Georgina Connell (younger sister) was married. I have lots of info on this and will post as soon as I get chance. Got a lot on tonight, but will give more soon.

Cheers,

Gary
